Amazon offering big savings on Fitbit, Garmin, Jawbone and Withings activity trackers

Today is Black Friday, the day following Thanksgiving Day. For over 80 years, this has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the US, and most major retailers offer promotional sales on the day.

Times are changing, however, and people aren’t necessarily waking up early in the morning and rushing off to stores. Shoppers continue to take more and more of their business online. This year the annual holiday mega-retail event is predicted to yield the biggest sales in history.

Black Friday has also grown exponentially in other countries after Amazon shifted the shopping bonanza abroad following it’s success in the US. For example, last year the retail giant sold more than 7.4 million items in the UK, a record sales day with 86 items sold a second.

Right now Amazon is offering huge savings on many popular wearables brands, including Fitbit, Garmin, Withings, Jawbone, Pebble, Polar, TomTom and more.

If you are after a Fitbit activity tracker you can pick one up starting today for as low as $59.99 (Fitbit Flex), up to $180 (Fitbit Surge). The San Francisco’s latest two devices, the Charge 2 and Flex 2 are also on sale. Black Friday isn’t just on Friday anymore, so you can expect the deals to continue throughout the weekend.

Garmin is also shaving its prices and Amazon has discounted a number of its wearables by a third or more. This includes Vivofit 3, Vivoactive, Vivoactive HR, Vivosmart HR+ and Fenix 3 HR.

Not one to be left behind, Withings has cut its prices as well. The French manufacturer is, for example, selling its Activite Pop, Activite Steel and Activite Go fitness trackers at half price. It is also offering savings on a range of its smart scales and blood pressure monitors.
