Had the scales 2 years, updated the app several times… never been asked to pay anything, no option to pay anything, and not feature restricted in any way. This may have been a temporary thing they tried when they first introduced cloud backup, but if it was, it didn’t last long, cloud backup option is free too.

Body Fat % is out by about 5% compared to Tanita Boditrax in the gym and calipers. Visceral fat reading however does concur with Boditrax?

Not sure where your seeing these charges. Sure some people are upset and post it on the the app reviews, not because of bogus charges, but cause they don’t troubleshoot or call customer service.

They just updated their app requiring that you pay $4.99 – $7.99 a month to review much of the data anyone serious about body health is interested in such as body muscle over time or body muscle compared to fat. This had all be free up until their most recent app update; numerous people are furious and their app reviews show that.

All smart scales work with an accompanying app. You can get the weight without an app – but then why purchase a smart scale – you would be better off with a regular scale!
