The wearable is hands-down the the most advanced smartwatch you can buy today. Plus with each new iteration, its is getting better at tracking your fitness, too.

Apple Watch Series 3

The Series 3 watch was launched some two years ago. It brought (for the first time) LTE compatibility, a faster processor/wireless chip and a barometric altimeter. From this version one you have two iterations to choose from – one with cellular connectivity and a version without it.

When you are away from your phone, the LTE edition automatically switches to the cellular signal. This means you will be able to make and receive calls, as well as messages, at all times. Third party apps are able to tap into this signal, as well.

Other changes over its predecessors are to do with boosting health features and revolve mainly around heart rate readings. You can use the device to heart rate zone train, check your resting heart rate, spot abnormalities and more.

Apple Watch Series 4

The Apple Watch Series 4 delivers solid improvements over the Series 3, including a bigger display, ECG sensor, fall detection, performance upgrades and more. Other hardware improvements include a revamped digital crown, 50% louder speakers and a back that is made of more premium materials.

Fitness stats are more accurate, too, thanks to the next generation accelerometer and gyroscope. Those concerned about their health will be happy to know the device detects heart rate unusually low and high heart rates, as well as arrhythmia.

The headline grabbing news, of course, is the addition of the FDA-approved ECG sensor. This is the first direct-to-consumer product that enables users to take an electrocardiogram right from their wrist.
