Fitbit Black Friday 2019: everything you need to know

This article is a preview of what you can expect from Black Friday 2019, the biggest shopping bonanza of the year. Just like everyone else Fitbit will be offering a selection of deals on its products.

Fitness trackers and smartwatches are a great tool to help you boost your health and fitness but let’s face it – some of these devices can be quite pricey. As more and more players enter the market wearables are becoming cheaper, but it is still the big brand names which dominate sales. This is for a reason. Hardware can sometimes be easier to emulate than software and it is companies such as Fitbit, Garmin, Samsung and Apple that still offer the better overall package.

To help you save a few bucks, just like in the previous years we will scour the listings in the run-up to Black Friday 2019 to help you find the best deals. In 2019 the big day falls on November 29th. Technically Black Friday is always the day after Thanksgiving which falls a bit later this year. However, this is not a one day event. Deals will start to land in the weeks and days leading up to the biggest day, and they should last that entire weekend into Cyber Monday.

Last year Amazon organized something called “Kick-off countdown to Black Friday 2018” deals, and the retail giant should do the same this year. This has become an annual tradition of offering Amazon Prime members early access to Lightning deals. It pays to have a Prime membership (register here) around holiday time. Luckily, you can get a free one month trial, which can be timed to coincide with big sales days. At the end of the month, if you don’t want to keep the membership simply cancel and you won’t be charged.

So let’s talk about Fitbit.

Last year savings could be had on pretty much its entire range of devices. This year should be no different.

Deals can be picked up already on Amazon and fitbit.com but this is mostly on older devices. The company has released this year the Versa 2, Versa Lite and Inspire range. We’ve not seen yet any discounts on Versa 2 which is not really surprising considering it saw the light of day less than a month ago. Occasionally some deals can be found on Amazon on the other two. But this should all ramp up into November.

Versa 2 is a great device and is our recommendation for someone looking for a fitness watch. It comes with everything from the previous generation but with some extras. This includes a better screen, longer battery life, more powerful processor and  Amazon Alexa support.

Inspire HR and its non-heart rate variant are great options for someone just starting to track fitness. They take everything offered by predecessor devices and package it in a slim and attractive form factor. These devices also make the Alta HR, Alta, Flex 2, and much older Zip and One trackers redundant. You can still buy them, but only while stocks last.

There is a reason Fitbit trackers sell so well. They are simple to use, reliable, look smart, provide great vitals statistics and have an excellent app behind them. We’ll let you know when any great deals come up both in the run-up and during Black Friday 2019 and Cyber Monday.
