Huami has made official the new Amazfit Pop. Pre-sales begin today with shipping to begin in early November.
The company’s latest timepiece comes with a 1.43-inch HD colour display (320 x 320 pixel resolution, 305ppi), accompanied by around 50 dials to customise from. It has 50 meter water-resistance and 9 days battery life.
In addition to the fitness tracking usuals and sleep monitoring, Amazfit Pop has blood oxygen saturation monitoring, breathing training, PAI health assessment and over 60 exercise modes.
Users also get the basic smart functions such as smartphone notifications, alarms and more. Like its predecessors, Amazfit Pop packs support for Alipay offline payments and NFC bus access control.
Now, you might be wondering exactly what’s new and different about this model. And that’s a good question.
Earlier this month we saw the launch of Amazfit Bip U in India. It comes with largely the same specs. Comparing the two, we’re not really sure there is anything that is new.

Huang Wang commented that, at 31 grams, Amazfit Pop weighs less than previous models. That is true for all Amazfit Bip devices apart from Bip U. It comes in at exactly the same weight. This leads us to the conclusion that Amazfit Pop is a rebranded version of Bip U, with perhaps the addition of some more colourful options.
In China the watch retails for 349 yuan (just over $50). This includes a 50 yuan ($8) discount to those who pre-order the device. Shipping is set to begin on November 1st.
