The Fitbit end-year review lets you know your most active days in 2020 and highlights some counts. You should be receiving it in an email if you have not already.
Fitbit “Your year in review” – what is it?
Fitbit has been sending “Your year in review” since 2017. The only criteria is that you have been active for more than 15 days during the past 12 months and have accumulated at least 10,000 steps.
The email consists of an infographic and some general user stats. The first shows your most active day during the year along with the step count on that day.
Apart from that you get a total step count for the 12 month period and the distance travelled in 2020. The steps are compared to how many times you would have walked the length of a cruise ship (1,000 feet), the distance is compared to how many times you would have crossed the English Channel (21 miles). That’s pretty much it as far as personalized stats.
Those that have received the email get an option to share the infographic on Facebook. Previously there was also a Twitter option. But you can always take a screen-shot and share on all social media for bragging rights.
The rest of the email highlights some general user stats. This is taken from Fitbit’s database that consists of millions of users activity data. Everything, of course, has been anonymized.
The stats show the the daily average active zone minutes was 47 in 2020. Those living in Spain, Japan, and Australia were the most active.
As far as sleep stats, the average Sleep Score during the year was 76. People slept on average 6.8 hours per night, just short of the minimum recommended 7 hours. A typical user goes to bed at 11:20 pm and gets up at 8:03 am.
What to do if you have not received the email
If you have not received the email despite being active during the year, take some comfort in the knowledge that you are not alone. There are reports on Fitbit Community threads of users asking why they did not get the review.

It seems there’s an issue that is affecting some users. Unfortunately not much can be done from your side and there’s no place in the app to view those stats. Fitbit will also not be sending the email out again.
Here’s what a moderator on the forum had to say.
“I’ve reported this to our team and we are aware that some may not have received their year-end review. We’ll continue to monitor the situation, and keep our team informed of the impact, but will not be able to resend the year in review email again at this time.”
The “Your year in review” email was sent by Fitbit on January 8th. But users are still just getting it in their inbox so there is a chance you’ll receive it if you haven’t already. Also, check your spam folder. Such emails are often suspect to spam filters so end up being discarded.
