The FCC has added Realme Watch 2 Pro to its register. It follows Watch 2 which made the cut a couple of weeks ago. The filing reveals some specs and a couple of images of the second generation timepiece.
It has been less than a year since the first generation Realme Watch, but we are already talking about the new generation. The Oppo spin-off brand launched its first ever smartwatch in May 2020. It looks very much like the Apple Watch in terms of design. The specs are decent for a device that costs around $50. You get all the basic fitness stats including SpO2 and 12 sports modes, plus some smart functionality.
Another effort from Realme on the smartwatch front came a few months later. Watch S swaps the square look for a circular design. It costs about twice as much than the first device, and also comes in a Pro variant that slaps on built-in GPS and a more premium build.
Realme Watch 2
The January Watch 2 FCC registration revealed the first details about the upcoming watch. The device has been filed under the number RMW2008 and looks largely similar to the original.
Realme Watch 2 comes packing a square 1.4 inch TFT LCD panel touchscreen. This comes with 320 x 320 pixels resolution. There’s a single physical button on the right to help navigate the menus and power on the watch. The actual dimensions of the device come in at 25.8 x 35.7 x 12.2 mm so it’s slightly larger than its predecessor.
This is probably to accomodate the much larger battery. The IP68 certified Realme Watch 2 has a 305 mAh battery, a sizeable upgrade on the 160 mAh of generation one. The first generation could go for about a week on a single charge so you can expect 10 days, perhaps even two weeks with Realme Watch 2.
The user manual reveals the timepiece will monitor steps, heart rate (via a PPG heart rate sensor), blood oxygen, sleep tracking and will have a number of different workout modes. Smart functionality consists of smartphone notifications, music controls and a meditation mode.
The pictures reveal a plastic build connected to a silicone strap. The band has the brands slogan – ‘DARE TO LEAP’.
Realme Watch 2 Pro
In addition to that filing, a couple of days ago the FCC added Watch 2 Pro. Unfortunately, most of the papers associated with the registration are confidential for now. Which means there is nothing that can be deduced about the specs. The label information does confirm that this will be a square device, probably sporting the same form-factor as Watch 2.
Our guess is that the distinction beween the two will be the addition of built-in GPS and perhaps better build quality. This is the route Realme took with the Watch S range.
Realme Watch 2 and Watch 2 Pro leak in app code
A mention of the Watch 2 and Watch 2 Pro’s names were found deep within the source code of Realme Link app about a month ago. This is the software that functions as the central hub for the company’s smart products.
The leak comes from The Tech Guy, who is very good at this sort of thing.

It’s anyone’s guess really as to a possible launch date. It has been less than 12 months since the release of the original so we would be surprised if anything surfaces before the Spring. The latest FCC registration hints that it could be even sooner.
