A new rumor suggests Apple Watch Series 7 will come packing a flat-edged design, mirroring what we’ve seen on some other Apple devices. There’s also talk of a new colorway.
This comes from well known analyst and leaker on everything to do with Apple – Jon Prossier. He revealed the info in the latest episode of his Genius Bar podcast with Sam Kohl (via AppleTrack).

This type of design would bring the watch closer to some other Apple gear such as the iPhone 12 and iPad Pros. The difference is that this type of design would be slightly more subtle on the watch.
An Apple-made timepiece with flat edges might not be to everyones liking but we would agree with Kohl. He said that “it makes sense to redesign it to fall in line with Apple’s other products” and that “the edges of the new wearable are similar to Apple’s recent iPad models.
Another revelation on the Genius Bar podcast was that Apple Watch Series 7 might come in a new green color variant. We’ve seen that colorway on the Apple AirPods Max.
The end result of a flat edged Apple Watch might look something like the images in this article. These were put together by Prossier. They are not the real thing but are based on the specs he received.
Credible rumors on the Apple Watch Series 7 have been few and far between. Which means we don’t really know what to expect. A flat edged design certainly seems like a realistic possibility.
There is also talk this year’s edition might come packing a glucose sensor. That would be useful not just for diabetics, but also for those that want to keep a closer eye on their health or improve their sports performance.
Apple is apparently looking to utilize something called Raman spectroscopy to determine glucose levels in the blood. This is being worked on together with researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). We are not optimistic that we will, indeed, see glucose monitoring on Series 7. But Series 8 certainly seems like a strong possibility.
