How in the world did you get ahold of tech support? You must certainly mean by email. Because there appears to be no feasible way to speak to a person on the phone.

I’m on my replacement Gen3 due to battery issue. Now I asked for a replacement and they say I’m out of warranty from the date of original purchase. So basically the business model is a $350 ring about 1.5 yrs. I’m considering dumping this and just go with an Apple Watch as it at least better quality. Buyer beware gen3 craps put faster on battery than gen 1 or 2. Oura is about to loose an OG customer from Gen1. Sad to say.

I have owned all generations of the Oura ring. I still have the Oura ring 2 which I have went back to using. It holds a charge for 5+ days. My Oura ring 3 maybe 48 hours. Tech support gave me a procedure, it did not help and then told me to wait for firmware updates. Not a good response for a $300 ring.

The problem with the conspiracy theory is that this has just happened to my gen3 ring. I asked them abouit it on the support site several days ago but have heard nothing. Prior to this I had a very high opinion of Oura, but now that’s rapidly diminishing.

Interesting. My Gen3 ring dropped from about a 5 day charge to 48 hour charge the same time new features were release (blood oxygen monitoring). The battery life continue to deteriorate for the last month and is at about a 12 hour charge now. I’m still within one year of purchase, so hoping they agree to ship a replacement.

Oura is pretty good about promptly replacing the device within warranty. Mine ring dropped battery life to about a day after a little less than one year. The replacement device is on its way.

Strangely, my Oura's usage time quickly dropped from three days to ~ 12 hours after gen3 ring was published. Feels like there is a good room for a conspiracy theory!

While oura acknowledges this issue, I wish to warn users that the company didn't seem to fulfill it's promises here. I connected them within the warranty period, was told I was eligible for a replacement, and that a ring would be shipped. Then it never was. I followed up with my order number and told it would be shipped... Another month went by. I've reached out to their support again and they are "under high volume", but haven't got a reply for 7 days and counting.

This happened to me too, and I didn't realize the loss of charge would be considered part of the ring's warranty. I'm beyond my two year mark but found this really helpful!
