Amazfit GT 4 Series hits the FCC, GTS 4 Mini confirmed

The Amazfit GT 4 Series will launch later in 2022. A couple of days ago GTS 4 Mini was added to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database.

The popular line is expected to drop in Q3, this year. This was confirmed at Zepp Health’s May 2022 investor call. The speaker made a mention of “multi-dimensional” enhancements as far as health functionality. Which will probably come courtesy of Huami’s next-generation Bio Tracker optical sensor.

The Amazfit GT 4 series consists of GTS 4 and GTR 4. What iterations we’ll get besides these basics ones remains to be seen. But an additional one that has now been confirmed by the FCC filing is the GTS 4 Mini. This is an ultra-slim and super-light variant of the watch. There’s also a possibility of a Pro version.

FCC paperwork confirms existence of GTS 4 Mini

There was no GTS 3 Mini last year but we did get a GTS 2 Mini a while back. That one came with smaller dimensions and it lacked certain functions such as music storage. But it came at a much lower price making the device a bargain.

The FCC paperwork is for a watch with the moniker A2176. We know this is the GTS 4 Mini because it says so on the ID location page.

The timepiece comes with a 270mAh battery, so up from the 220mAh battery of the GTS 2 Mini. That one has around 2 weeks worth of battery juice between charges, so the GTS 4 Mini might surpass that. Whether it does depends on other specs. For example, a larger display will be more power-hungry.

Nothing else is known currently about the Amazfit GT 4 range apart from the rough release schedule. There’s a six month confidentiality clause accompanying the GTS 4 Mini regulatory paperwork. But our guess is we might see the GT 4 line well before that expires. Probably around the time of IFA in Berlin. That’s early September and it’s an ideal launching ground. Huami (aka. Zepp Health) is regular at attending Europe’s biggest tech gathering.

Also expected in the near future are Bip 3, Bip 3 Pro and Pop watches. In fact the first of these has already been made available for purchase. It comes with a significant boost in display size – 1.69 inch TFT-LCD versus the 1.43 inches of its predecessor. There’s support for blood oxygen and heart rate monitoring, stress readings and Women’s Health features. The same great low price of around $65 is still there.
