I’m not in agreement that a ScanWatch 2 needs half of the features in this article. I hope Withings has some more creativity than this “it should have everything” author dreamt up.

Now, if they allowed for a fabulous level of customization to pick-and-choose which of these features you wanted…then yeah, bring on the choice. But realistically there will be 4-5 SKUs and that won’t be an option. So I say keep it lightweight and hybrid.

Take a look at the Vivomove range from Garmin, it has a far more useful display and functionality (including payments) but way behind in aesthetics.
