Amazon Fitbit sale: from classics to latest models

Amazon has rolled out an enticing array of discounts on Fitbit wearables. Included in this sale is the sophisticated Fitbit Sense 2, the streamlined Charge 5 and more.

Fitbit competes in the wearables market alongside industry titans such as Garmin, Samsung, and Apple. What distinguishes these powerhouses from their more affordable counterparts is not only their quality hardware, but also their meticulously crafted software ecosystems. They are well-known for providing a harmonious blend of performance, utility, and aesthetics, allowing consumers to have a more immersive and integrated experience.

Fitbit has not had any new hardware announcements so far this year. So the devices that are on sale right now are the latest crop. These watches incorporate incremental improvements, but they do not necessarily reinvent the wheel. They include refinements and enhancements that build on the solid foundation established by their predecessors.

It’s also worth noting that retailers are also slashing prices on older models. This can be an appealing prospect for budget-conscious shoppers, who can benefit from Fitbit’s laudable quality and dependability without having to shell out for the most recent models. By selecting a previous generation device that still has a plethora of features, you may be able to save a significant amount of money without sacrificing too much functionality or style.

Fitbit Sense 2

This is the one to go for if you want pretty much everything Fitbit has an offer. It looks like Versa 4 but comes in a slightly more premium design. If you’re wondering if you’ll miss out on some functionality if you buy Sense instead of Versa, don’t worry. Because you won’t. But you will get some extras.

The first worth mentioning is ECG. Taking a leaf out of Apple’s book, there’s finally a Fitbit smartwatch that can take your electrodiagram. This is done by placing your fingers on the corners of the case. The only other Fitbit that has the ability to do this is Charge 5.

The second big upgrade is to do with 24/7 stress tracking. On Sense it also takes into consideration readings from an electrodermal activity (EDA) sensor, along with resting heart rate, HRV, temperature and more.

The main difference between Sense 2 and Sense is that the latest generation can untilize the EDA sensor around the clock. The original Sense takes these types of readings on-demand.

There is plenty more on offer including built-in GPS, SpO2 and other fitness and health sensors. Finally users will benefit from some smart functionality such as Google Assistant & Alexa, along with access to various music streaming services.

Fitbit Charge 5

The Fitbit Charge 5 is one of the best fitness bands for the average person. It comes with a large AMOLED display, water-proofing, excellent 7 day battery life and a great software eco-system.

You’ll find everything you need for 24/7 activity monitoring and more. This includes some advanced health tracking functionality such as ECG and EDA for stress. Think of it as Sense, but in the form of an activity band. Plus, there’s built-in GPS for tracking exercise outdoors without a smartphone. There are only a handful of activity bands with built-in GPS and Charge 5 is one of them.

Outside of fitness, the Charge range comes with some smart features. These have progressed so much that they are starting to blend the line between fitness tracker and smartwatch.

The device still represents a good buy. Particularly as we are not expecting its successor probably until the second half of 2023.

Fitbit Versa 3

Fitbit Versa or Versa Lite: should you favour affordability or more features?

Versa 4 is not on sale but Versa 3 is. This is the lower-spec sibling of Fitbit’s other flagship smartwatch. The device comes with many of the sensors you’ll find on Sense, but it comes at a lower price.

In terms of fitness tracking there’s everything you’d expect from a Fitbit, along with capturing real-time stats on a wealth different types of activities including swimming. Plus there’s built-in GPS.

As far as health tracking, you don’t get an EDA sensor for more detailed stress tracking or the ECG monitor. For these you’ll need to opt for Sense.

Fitbit Ace 3

For a long time Fitbit didn’t have a fitness tracker for kids – now it has three. The third generation is meant for those 6 and above. It is rugged so can take quite a beating and comes with proper water resistance and a large screen.

The tracker dishes out rewards for moving with celebratory messages and fun, collectible badges. And, if you have a Fitbit yourself you can promote a bit of friendly family competition.

This is an iterative upgrade over the second generation. Improved battery life, a slightly better display, some more clock faces including animated ones are the main changes. Fitbit says there are also more accessory band options as compared to before.
