Striv AI-enabled running insoles prepare for Kickstarter launch
Striv is gearing up to launch a Kickstarter campaign for their AI-enabled running insoles in a couple of weeks time. These smart insoles aim to provide runners with detailed biomechanical data and personalized coaching.

To this end, the insoles are equipped with an array of sensors to capture comprehensive data about a runner’s gait and performance. In fact, each insole contains 256 textile pressure sensors, a high-precision inertial measurement unit (IMU), and a high-precision barometer. This sensor array allows the insoles to collect a wealth of data about foot pressure distribution, motion, and elevation changes during runs.
Compatibility is the key here. The insoles are designed to work in conjunction with your existing pair of sneakers.
Simply slip them in and make sure to attach the battery pod to your shoes. They attach via a magnetic mechanism. The company says everything is designed to last for approximately 20 hours of active use. That equates to at least two weeks of training for most people. Striv plans to offer a backup battery option for users who need to swap power sources during longer runs or training periods.
After that it is a matter of connecting the pod to the smartphone app via Bluetooth. While you run you can then get coaching insights via the app and view biomechanical data in real-time.
The system aims to provide personalized training plans, help prevent overtraining and injuries, and optimize overall running performance. The company plans to support connections with popular wearables such as Apple Watch and Garmin devices, as well as integration with fitness apps like Strava.
Striv reports that their insoles have been tested by Olympic athletes, suggesting a focus on high-performance capabilities. However, the company states that their product is designed for runners of all levels, from beginners to experienced marathoners.
Smart insoles have been few and far between. We reviewed NURVV Run back in 2021, but there has been little else that has captured our insterest since. Which is a bid odd, considering the best place to capture this type of data is from something sitting in your running shoes.
The upcoming Kickstarter campaign will offer early backers a 40% discount on pre-orders. As with all such endevours, potential backers should be aware that there can be risks and delays associated with backing products that are still in development.
