Huawei Band 10 certifications hint at global launch plans

Huawei’s next fitness tracker, the Band 10, is on its way, with recent certifications revealing a global release is around the corner. The device has been listed on Indonesia’s SDPPI database and Europe’s TUV SUD platform under the model number NOR-B29. These certifications are necessary that ensure the device meets quality, safety, and environmental standards in those regions.

While Huawei has yet to announce a launch date, the timing aligns with the company’s usual spring release window. If the pattern holds, we could see the Band 10 arrive in March or April 2025, following its predecessors’ schedule.

Looking back at the Huawei Band 9

Looking at the last iteration, there was actually very little to separate Huawei Band 9 from the Band 8. Certainly not enough to warrant an upgrade if you were holding the older device.

One of the upgrades was the introduction of a 9-axis IMU sensor, which enhances activity tracking as compared to the 6-axis inertial sensors of the earlier device. Additionally, the Band 9 offers upgrades in sleep tracking and overall health monitoring, making it a better choice for those focused on comprehensive wellness tracking.

The design is very similar with some slight differences in dimensions. Also, the Band 9 introduces new shades like Lemon Yellow, Light Pink, and Electric Blue, offering a more modern aesthetic compared to the Band 8’s classic tones such as Emerald Green and Cherry Pink.

What the Band 10 might bring

Hopefully, the next iteration will bring some more significant refinements to the table. It wouldn’t be surprising to see an upgraded display, improved sensors, along with more advanced health tracking options. On the other hand, we could get subtle upgrades once again. Hard to say at this stage.

Last year there were quite a few leaks before the official launch. So don’t be surprised if further details about the Band 10 start trickling out well before its expected release.
