Circular Ring 2 launches with ECG & AFib detection at CES 2025

Circular is back with the next iteration of its smart ring series, unveiling the Circular Ring 2 at CES 2025. This new model builds on the foundations laid by the Circular Ring Slim, which launched in late 2023. With highlights such as ECG monitoring and a revamped design, it positions itself as an interesting addition to the smart ring landscape.

We actually knew the device was coming considering it was mentioned by the company’s customer support channels back in November. But it is only now that we are learning all the details.

Expanding on its predecessor’s foundations

The previous model, the Circular Ring Slim, introduced some unique features like haptic navigation and lightweight construction but didn’t win universal acclaim. The new Circular Ring 2 addresses prior criticisms with enhanced sensors, a new app interface, and notable additions like FDA-cleared AFib detection.

On-demand ECG monitoring now takes center stage in this model. This feature provides heart health insights, aiming to go beyond basic metrics. By incorporating FDA-cleared algorithms for AFib detection, the device promises to deliver actionable data for users who prioritize cardiovascular health. It is something we have not seen in a ring, to date.

Design meets durability

Circular Ring 2 has also undergone a complete aesthetic and material redesign. Available in four finishes—Gold, Silver, Black, and Rose Gold—the ring features a titanium build. The goal is to offer a device that integrates seamlessly into daily life, whether you’re attending meetings or hitting the gym.

The new digital ring-sizing feature is another notable innovation. This ensures buyers can find their perfect fit before placing an order. It also eliminates the need to wait for a sizing kit to be sent over, thus saving time.

Upgrades to functionality

Beyond that, the Circular Ring 2 includes improved sensors for more accurate tracking of biometrics, from sleep stages to heart rate. It also boasts a longer battery life, providing up to eight days of use per charge, and introduces wireless charging.

Kira+, the AI wellness assistant, has also received a significant update. The accompanying app now offers a more intuitive interface, aligning with the ring’s upscale design ethos.

Market availability and pricing

The Circular Ring 2 is being showcased at CES 2025 and will launch via a crowdfunding campaign later in January. Retail availability is expected by February or March, with a price of $380. Circular hopes the upgrades and expanded feature set will resonate with users.

While it’s early to gauge how well this new model will be received, Circular seems committed to refining its smart ring line to better meet user expectations. With features like ECG and AFib detection, the new device could make a name for itself.
