Silvio, just to clarify - we were the first to surface this information in a published article. It came from an obscure forum post that we independently found, verified, and contextualised. Without our work, it would have gone unnoticed. When others follow that path, attribution matters. We always credit media outlets when they lead us to a story, but that wasn’t the case here. Frankly, it's behaviour like this that makes websites hesitant to share obscure sources, because some journalists claim credit without doing the work to surface them. This isn’t a one-off - you’ve done this multiple times. We’ll continue to publicly document this pattern when it happens. And we’re glad that other writers at Notebookcheck don’t engage in this.

Hi Marko, here is Silvio. For me it is very strange that you think that we are only be aware of new stories about you. One of our founder has explained you with a lot of emails, why you conclusion is wrong. Just a hint: I'm using a lot of RSS-Feed and Web-Alerts for looking for new sources and you site is not my first source for informations about wearables. And to be honest, it is very unrespectful over members of the community, who are finding News about new devices. We give them credit, you don't.

Best,
Silvio

Not posted due to repeated cases where our work is used as a roadmap without credit. A common pattern: we uncover a retailer leak, obscure regulatory or social media info, and others retrace that path and credit the end source — but not the media outlet that uncovered it. In our experience, this has happened more than once with Silvio Werner at Notebookcheck Germany. We’ve reached out directly, but never received a satisfactory reply. Thankfully, most journalists, including others at Notebookcheck, have more integrity. Still, this kind of thing makes us pause before publishing early discoveries.
