Until there's price and battery life parity I don't see anyone really wanting to buy this unless they are stupid rich. I think as the article points out this is just a beta test so anyone buying a $2000 watch today will want to buy a new one when the Fenix 9 Pro watches come out as hopefully by then they will have achieved those parity goals.

Garmin have lost their collective marbles here. Their flagships have always been pricy, I know, I own two (Fenix 7x solar and Epic Gen 2 for running and everyday/dress wear)... But a watch that's $2k with reduced battery life? Sure it has LTE and satellite comms, but I bought an InReach messenger 2 years ago and I have all that functionality with incredible battery life on both devices... I would never upgrade to the Fenix 8 Pro given my current setup. I ran a 68 hour 200 mile ultra with my Fenix 7X solar! Good luck doing that with the 8 Pro!
