A smaller watch with premium materials

The new device launched as part of Oppo’s wider April event, which also introduced the Find X9 Ultra, Find X9s Pro, Pad 5 Pro, Pad 5 and Enco Clip 2. While the regular Watch X3 already covers the larger flagship space, the Mini version takes a slightly different route.

It comes with a circular 1.32-inch OLED display with 466 x 466 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. Oppo has protected the screen with sapphire crystal glass, which is still something you do not always see even on more expensive smartwatches. At 40.4 grams, the 5 ATM rated device is clearly designed to feel lighter on the wrist than the larger model.

The case keeps a polished look, with the standout option being a high-gloss gold finish made with 18K gold stainless steel. There are also mocha brown and starlight silver versions for those who want something less flashy. The watch uses standard 18mm quick-release straps, which should make replacements and customisation easy.

The styling also leans more toward jewellery than sport watch. Oppo seems to be pushing this as something that works both as a smartwatch and as a design accessory.

Proper smartwatch hardware, not just a fitness tracker

Under the hood, Oppo has used the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset paired with a BES2800BP co-processor. The watch includes 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, along with extra memory for RTOS operations.

It runs on ColorOS Watch 16 and supports eSIM, which means users can make calls and stay connected without carrying a phone nearby. Oppo is also highlighting support for direct calling from the wrist, WeChat replies and more than 100 apps, which helps position this closer to a full smartwatch than a simple health tracker.

There is also NFC support and the watch can function as a remote for your phone, including camera shutter control. So a few extras there.

Battery capacity is 345mAh, with Oppo claiming up to 2.5 days in smart mode and up to 7 days in extended mode. Watch VOOC fast charging is also included, with a 10-minute charge delivering up to 24 hours of use and a full charge taking around an hour.

Health tracking gets proper attention

Health and wellness features are clearly a big part of the pitch. Oppo includes an upgraded wrist temperature sensor, an 8-channel heart rate sensor and a 16-channel blood oxygen sensor.

There is also menstrual cycle tracking with exercise guidance, sleep monitoring and built-in GPS for outdoor activities. Running posture analysis and a professional swimming mode are included as well, so it is not just focused on passive tracking.

Pre-launch teasers also pointed to hypertension risk detection, although Oppo has not fully detailed how that works in the final launch specs. If that feature arrives with meaningful depth rather than just a simple alert, it could become one of the more interesting additions.

Pricing, availability

The mix here is interesting. It suggests Oppo wants the watch to sit somewhere between a fashion-focused wearable and a serious daily health companion.

Pricing starts at 1,799 yuan for the Bluetooth-only starlight silver version, which works out to around $265. The mocha brown and standard starlight silver eSIM versions cost 1,999 yuan, while the high-gloss gold version reaches 2,499 yuan, or roughly $370. No word yet on potential international availability.

The big news here is that this is not shaping up to be a China-only release. Oppo has now confirmed a global unveiling for April 21, which immediately makes this a much more relevant launch for international smartwatch buyers.

That is especially interesting because Oppo and OnePlus have a track record of sharing hardware across markets. So there is already speculation that this device could eventually surface internationally under the OnePlus name, much like previous smaller smartwatch variants.

A smaller design with a more premium look

The design is clearly one of the main talking points.

Oppo seems to be positioning the Watch X3 Mini as a more fashion-led smartwatch rather than simply a reduced-size version of the standard model. The use of sapphire crystal glass and a stainless steel body gives it a more premium feel straight away, while one of the finishes adds gold-plated detailing for an even more polished look.

Based on the teaser images, the watch keeps a circular display but trims down the overall footprint. That should make it a better fit for smaller wrists and for users who found larger smartwatches too bulky for everyday wear.

Health features go beyond the basics

The health tracking side is also worth paying attention to. Alongside the expected heart rate, sleep, stress and blood oxygen tracking, Oppo is highlighting hypertension risk detection as one of the standout features.

It is important to be precise here because this is not direct blood pressure measurement. From what has been shared so far, the watch appears to estimate elevated blood pressure risk using trends in optical sensor data rather than delivering an actual cuff-style reading.

Still, it gives Oppo a stronger health-led message for the launch and lines up with where the wider smartwatch market is heading. Skin temperature monitoring and menstrual cycle insights are also expected to be part of the package, so this looks like a fairly complete health suite.

A full smartwatch in a smaller body

The “Mini” name does not appear to mean reduced functionality. Quite the contrary.

Oppo is expected to keep the full smartwatch experience intact, including wrist calling, remote camera control and support for a large app ecosystem. Battery life is said to reach around two and a half days in standard use, extending to as much as seven days in power saving mode.

Overall, this looks less like a cut-down model and more like a smaller premium alternative to the main Watch X3. With the April 21 global launch now confirmed, this is one launch worth keeping an eye on, especially if it later makes its way into international markets under the OnePlus brand.

A redesigned crown with a different feel

The first look comes via Evan Blass on X. This reveals that the digital crown now has a rounded top instead of the flat finish seen on previous models. It is a small detail, but it changes the way the watch presents itself. A rounded crown tends to feel softer on the finger and can be easier to use during movement.

Smaller watches often feel more exposed when interacting with buttons, so even minor tweaks can improve day to day usability. The secondary button remains the same, which suggests Oppo is not rethinking the entire control setup.

Familiar design, just scaled down

The leaked image shows a silver case paired with white straps. The material looks like fluoroelastomer, which is standard for such devices. It is durable, flexible and works well for everyday use.

There is nothing surprising here in terms of materials or layout. The watch keeps the same overall shape and aesthetic as the, recently launched, Watch X3.

Colour options remain unclear. The previous generation Mini model came in multiple finishes, so it would not be surprising to see Oppo follow a similar approach again. Strap swapping should also be part of the experience, which gives users some flexibility even if the launch colours are limited.

Positioning and expected trade offs

A smaller watch usually comes with a lower price. That is expected here as well. The Watch X3 Mini will likely sit below the main Watch X3 in the lineup.

That positioning usually comes with compromises. These tend to be in areas like battery size, display real estate or advanced features. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but this is the typical trade off for a more compact device.

The key question is how much functionality carries over. If Oppo manages to keep most of the core features intact, this could appeal to users who find larger watches too bulky.

Oppo has already confirmed an April 1 launch event in China. The Watch X3 Mini is expected to arrive alongside the Oppo K15 Pro series and the Enco Clip 2 earbuds.

A true titanium unibody and refined design

One of the headline changes is what Oppo calls an “integral titanium” build. The Watch X3 uses a monoblock TC4 titanium chassis rather than a hybrid structure. In simple terms, this means the structural frame is carved from a single piece of titanium instead of combining metal with internal plastic or composite layers.

That is not a trivial shift. Titanium is harder to machine than aluminium or steel, so moving to a full unibody design suggests a more complex manufacturing process. The result is a watch that comes in 16% lighter and 6.4% thinner than its predecessor, despite using a tougher material.

The case measures 47.4mm across and 11.0mm thick, weighing 43g. The design also introduces a 12-sided bezel, giving the watch a slightly more angular look. Interestingly, the Gravity Black version keeps a fully circular appearance, setting it apart from the other finishes.

Durability remains a strong point. The watch carries IP68, IP69 and 5ATM ratings, along with MIL-STD-810H certification. Sapphire glass protects the display, which now reaches up to 3,000 nits under specific conditions such as outdoor workouts in bright sunlight.

Strap redesign and improved ergonomics

Oppo has also reworked the strap system. The new “bamboo joint” design uses segmented fluororubber with metal connectors, which allows for more flexibility and airflow. It is a small detail, but one that should improve comfort during longer wear.

The Watch X3 supports standard 22mm straps, which opens up more third party options. At the same time, the proprietary fit has changed, so older straps from previous Oppo or OnePlus models will not work with this generation.

Glucose monitoring and deeper health tracking

The most notable upgrade on the health side is continuous glucose monitoring. The watch can provide real time readings and flag unusual patterns. It also adds blood pressure tracking and hypertension risk assessment.

And while this sounds impressive, it is yet to be seen how this works in real life. At the moment, there is still no smartwatch that can reliably measure blood sugar. The situation is not very different for blood pressure measurements – these are estimates at best.

Those features sit alongside an already extensive sensor package. The Watch X3 includes ECG, vascular health analysis, heart rate tracking, SpO2, sleep monitoring with apnea detection and wrist temperature sensing.

Dual-chip system and sports features

Under the hood, Oppo continues with its dual-motor architecture. A low power BES2800 chip handles background tasks, while a Snapdragon W-series processor takes care of more demanding workloads. Oppo has confirmed this is not the newer high-end “Elite” variant, although the exact version remains unclear.

The watch includes 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, running ColorOS 16 in China with updated visuals and haptics powered by a new X-axis motor.

Fitness tracking remains comprehensive. There are over 100 sports modes, along with metrics such as VO2 Max, lactate threshold, recovery time and aerobic training effect. Dual-band GPS with support for L1 and L5 is included, alongside BeiDou, Galileo and GLONASS.

Battery life, charging and connectivity

Despite the slimmer build, battery capacity stays in the same range as before. The watch delivers up to 3 days under heavy use, around 5 days with typical usage and up to 16 days in power saving mode.

Charging is handled via magnetic pins, with a full charge taking around 75 minutes. A short 10 minute charge can provide roughly a day of use.

Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi and NFC. The Chinese version supports standalone eSIM, while global support remains unconfirmed. Oppo has historically limited eSIM availability outside China, so this is something to watch.

Pricing and availability

The Watch X3 is available in Global Star Orange, Gravity Black and Infinite Titanium. Pricing starts at CNY 2,600, with early bird offers lowering it to CNY 2,210. Higher end finishes come in at CNY 2,800, discounted to CNY 2,380 during pre-orders.

Sales in China begin on March 20, with international availability expected to follow.

The Mini name is not new territory for Oppo. The Watch X2 Mini established the template: a compact smartwatch that sits closer to a full-featured device than a basic fitness tracker.

What the Watch X2 Mini tells us

As we have no confirmed details available for the Watch X3 Mini, let’s look back at the Watch X2 Mini. That device runs Wear OS alongside a secondary RTOS system, a combination designed to keep battery life competitive. The chipset is a dual setup built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 platform, which was a capable choice at the time.

The display is a round AMOLED panel running at 466 x 466 resolution, which is sharp enough to make the compact form factor feel premium rather than budget. Health and fitness tracking covers the usual ground, with Bluetooth connectivity and swim-rated water resistance also in the mix.

It is a well-rounded package for a smaller watch, and if the Watch X3 Mini follows that formula with updated internals it should land in a strong position. The compact smartwatch space has become more competitive since the Watch X2 Mini arrived, with several brands now offering smaller models.

An April arrival

Timing an April launch would put the Watch X3 Mini roughly a month behind the standard Watch X3, which fits the pattern of companies introducing a primary model first and following up with variants shortly after. It also gives Oppo room to build some momentum around the X3 before shifting attention to the smaller sibling.

Whether the Mini shares any design language with the Watch X3 or takes its own direction is unknown at this point. Case size, display, battery capacity and sensor array are all still unconfirmed.

The Watch X3 Mini is at that early stage where enough is known to be interesting but not enough to draw firm conclusions. A name, a rough window and a previous generation to reference are useful starting points. The specification sheet is what will tell the real story.

This announcement follows a couple of teasers Oppo shared late last week. Those clips hinted at a new design direction and stronger build materials. Now the company has added a few concrete details that give us a better sense of what to expect from the watch.

Confirmed specs

For starters, we have a move to a titanium construction. Oppo says the Watch X3 uses an all titanium build, which should improve durability while also reducing weight. The new model is around sixteen percent lighter than the Oppo Watch X2. For context, the Watch X2 weighs about 49.7 grams.

The device is also thinner. Oppo claims the Watch X3 is about 6.4 percent slimmer than its predecessor. The Watch X2 measures roughly 11.8 millimetres thick, so the new model trims that down a little further. Taken together, the lower weight and slimmer profile suggest Oppo is trying to make the watch feel more comfortable for everyday wear.

Another upgrade worth mentioning is the durability rating. The Watch X3 carries an IP69 certification, which is one of the highest levels of protection commonly seen in consumer electronics. That rating indicates strong resistance against dust and high pressure water jets, suggesting the watch is designed to handle more demanding environments.

Oppo has shown the watch in three launch colours and introduced a new bamboo strap option. The bamboo strap stands out as a slightly unusual material choice for a smartwatch, and it could be part of an effort to differentiate the device visually from other premium wearables.

International release or just for the local market?

So far, most of the official information has appeared on Oppo’s Chinese social media channels. The company has not yet detailed the watch extensively for international audiences. 

There is also an interesting question about how this watch will fit into Oppo and OnePlus’ shared ecosystem. In previous generations, the Oppo Watch X line has effectively served as the Chinese version of OnePlus’ flagship smartwatch. The Oppo Watch X2, for example, became the OnePlus Watch 2 in global markets.

Because of that history, some observers are wondering whether the Watch X3 will eventually appear internationally as a successor to the OnePlus Watch 3. Oppo has not confirmed anything on that front yet. The company also has not clarified whether there will be differences between the Chinese and global versions of the device.

Looking at past releases does provide one clue. The Oppo Watch X2 launched in China with Oppo’s own software, while the international version shipped with Google’s Wear OS platform. If Oppo follows the same strategy again, the global version of the Watch X3 will likely run Wear OS as well.

With the official unveiling scheduled for March 17, we should not have to wait long to find out exactly how Oppo positions this new smartwatch and whether it will indeed expand beyond China.

The teasers are short on hard details, but the messaging does a lot of the talking. Oppo appears to be positioning the Watch X3 as a premium, tough-built smartwatch rather than chasing the ultra-thin trend that others are leaning into right now.

What the leaks are saying

The rumoured spec sheet is fairly substantial for a device that has not been officially announced yet. A titanium alloy bezel and sapphire crystal display protection are both on the list, which would put the Watch X3 in premium territory. Weight is expected to come in around 68 grams, with colour options spanning black, silver, titanium and orange.

The design sticks with the round form factor used on the Watch X2, and there’s a rotating crown alongside a second side button for hardware navigation. That combination of touch and physical controls has become a signature of the Watch X line.

On the display side, a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED panel is expected. Its peak brightness is rumoured at around 2200 nits.

Hardware inside

Internally, the Watch X3 is expected to carry a dual chip setup, which Oppo has used before to balance performance with power efficiency. The idea is that a low-power co-processor handles background tasks and standby, keeping the main chip free for heavier lifting. RAM and storage are expected to land at 2GB and 32GB respectively.

Battery capacity is rumoured at 632 mAh, which is on the larger end for a Wear OS device. The Watch X2 already stood out for its endurance, so a bigger cell in the X3 would only strengthen that reputation.

Software is expected to be Wear OS 6 based on Android 16, bringing Google Maps, Wallet and Play Store access along with it. Connectivity should cover LTE with eSIM, Bluetooth, WiFi and NFC for payments. Health features are expected to include heart rate, sleep tracking, GPS and a range of sports modes, with ECG also mentioned in some leaks though not yet confirmed.

Oppo Watch X3 vs Watch X2

From what has leaked so far, the Watch X3 looks more like an evolution of the Watch X2 than a fresh start. Oppo seems to be taking what already worked and turning up the dial in a few specific areas.

Materials and durability are the most obvious shift. The titanium messaging in the teaser makes it clear that Oppo wants this one to feel more premium and better built than its predecessor.

Display brightness and battery life also look set for upgrades. A 2200 nit peak figure would make a real difference outdoors, and a larger battery would only add to the endurance reputation the Watch X line has already built up among Wear OS devices.

Wear OS 6 rounds things out on the software side, putting the Watch X3 on a more current base than earlier models in the series.

Beyond those areas, the core concept stays familiar. Round design, rotating crown, dual chip architecture. Oppo is not trying to reinvent the Watch X, just make a stronger version of it.

The OnePlus angle

One detail worth keeping an eye on is what happens outside China. The Watch X3 hardware is widely expected to surface globally under the OnePlus Watch 4 name. Oppo and OnePlus have shared smartwatch platforms before, with the international version typically following the Chinese launch by a short margin.

If that pattern holds again, the Watch X3 could form the basis of OnePlus’s next global smartwatch push. Nothing official on that front yet, but it would be consistent with how both brands have operated in the past.

For now the March 17 date is the one to watch. Oppo appears to be building toward a reveal, and if the timeline holds, the full picture should come into focus very soon.

Mobile World Congress is best known for phones and connectivity, but it has become a stage for broader tech. The event draws in brands building everything from smart rings to fitness trackers, as well as companies behind the chips and software that power them. Big names like Huawei, Honor, Samsung, OnePlus, Garmin and Zepp Health all have presence this year. And several of them have history launching or showcasing wearables at the event.

Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 is likely

Zepp Health is widely expected to announce the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2. The name was discovered in a recent app code update, and a mystery model (A2550) was spotted in Malaysia’s SIRIM regulatory database a few days ago. Both are strong signs that launch is close, and MWC makes sense for global visibility.

The original T-Rex Ultra packed dual-band GPS, diving features and a tough build, but the sequel looks set to go further. Leaks and early speculation suggest the Ultra 2 might get a brighter 1.5-inch MicroLED screen, sapphire glass, better water resistance and a bigger battery. There’s even talk of satellite messaging and new health sensors.

Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro might appear

There’s also evidence that Xiaomi is preparing a Smart Band 10 Pro. A device labelled M2552B1 recently passed through South Korea’s NRRA certification system, which usually means a launch is on the horizon. The model number aligns with Xiaomi’s smart band line, and the timing places it close enough to MWC to raise expectations.

While Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed anything, it has a track record of debuting wearables around this show. The global version of Watch S4 appeared at MWC last year, so there’s precedent. If the Band 10 Pro does land, it could offer a larger display, better sensors, and a refreshed software interface.

Samsung unlikely to show a second ring

Samsung grabbed headlines in 2024 when it used MWC to preview its first smart ring. Two years later, the Galaxy Ring still hasn’t seen a follow-up. Legal complications are part of the reason. Oura has filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission accusing Samsung of patent infringement. That case is still active.

Industry coverage suggests a second-generation ring is not on the near-term roadmap. Samsung is still expected to appear at MWC in various forms, including through partners and its software ecosystem, but the odds of a new wearable hardware launch seem low.

Separately, Unpacked is reportedly set for February 25, one week before MWC begins. That further reduces the chance of a surprise wearable reveal at the show itself.

Honor, Huawei and OnePlus all have presence

Honor has already confirmed a March 1 press event in Barcelona. It will focus on the Magic V6 foldable and an experimental “robot phone,” but that doesn’t rule out additional ecosystem news. Honor previously used MWC to discuss AI and cross-device platforms, and wearables often form part of those updates.

Huawei has its own dedicated MWC 2026 page and booth space. It tends to mix enterprise and consumer hardware at events like this, so a new smartwatch isn’t guaranteed, but it’s always on the table.

OnePlus is also expected to be present, though it launched two watches in late 2025, including the Watch 3 and Watch Lite. That makes another watch unlikely. Instead, it might talk software or update plans for its current models, possibly tying into Wear OS developments if Google has platform updates to share.

Oppo looks set to bring the Watch X3 soon, after a new model (OWW261) cleared network certification in China. The filing confirms Android support, along with LTE and eSIM capabilities, pointing to a full-featured smartwatch with standalone connectivity. If it shows up at MWC, it would offer an alternative to Wear OS devices

Oura has a keynote role

Oura may not be showing off a new product, but its CEO is confirmed as a keynote speaker at MWC. This gives the company a high-profile platform to talk about health data, partnerships and future directions. Actually, just a few days ago we spotted a patent the company has filed for smart glasses that work in conjunction with a smart ring. Are they looking to expand beyond the finger?

Even if it doesn’t launch new hardware, Oura’s appearance could influence how wearables are discussed across the event, especially in the context of sleep, recovery and smart rings. The timing also helps reinforce the narrative around why Samsung’s ring follow-up isn’t happening right now.

Other wearables and input devices

MWC often includes smaller exhibitors showing off input gear and new wearable categories. Companies like Wearable Devices Ltd. are back on the show floor with motion-control hardware such as Mudra Link. You’ll also find companies demonstrating wrist sensors and gesture interfaces, often pitched at XR or industrial markets.

Qualcomm is another name to watch. It has announced plans to unveil its full WiFi 8 platform portfolio at MWC. This isn’t strictly a wearable story, but new connectivity standards eventually trickle into devices like smartwatches and earbuds. If Qualcomm announces new wearable chipsets or reference platforms, that will be part of the long-term picture for next-gen watches.

Garmin is also present at the show through its Garmin Health division. The company is showcasing existing devices like the Venu 4, Fenix 8 and Vivoactive 6, mainly in a B2B context. It’s not expected to announce new models, but its presence reinforces how wearables connect into healthcare and enterprise solutions.

Wearables may not be front and centre at MWC 2026, but there’s enough activity across bands, rings, rugged watches, health data and connectivity to make the trip worthwhile for anyone following the space.

A volatile year for the standout winner

Zepp Health delivered the most eye-catching return of 2025. It began the year trading at 2.60 dollars, climbed to a high of over 60, and closed at 27.43. That’s a gain of 955 percent, turning every thousand invested into over ten grand.

But the path there wasn’t smooth. The stock was actually one of the most volatile in the sector, reflecting both speculative interest and uncertainty.

Its steep rise coincided with a broader push into hardware and work on developing its health tracking platform. Investors appeared to respond not just to products like the Balance 2 and Helio series, but to the shift in Zepp Health’s positioning from budget-focused brand to a company that is closing the gap on main players such as Garmin. It is also likely that its stock was undervalued at the beginning of the year.

So if you invested in Zepp Health 12 months ago you’d be much better off today. But if you invested in the middle of the year, you could be sitting on a big loss. Timing is everything.

Comparing general tech giants and wearable-first brands

While Zepp Health is a wearable pure play, many others on the list are not. Apple, Xiaomi, Alphabet and Samsung generate most of their revenue from smartphones, services, cloud infrastructure or chips. That means their stock movements reflect far more than just their wearable product lines.

Apple posted a modest 9.11 percent gain, ending the year at 273.23 dollars. It was a relatively quiet year for Apple Watch, and although new features arrived, investor focus remained on AI, Mac sales, and regulatory news.

Alphabet did much better, climbing 66 percent. The market rewarded its software convergence story as Fitbit and Pixel Watch moved closer together, backed by a cleaner wearables UI and better integration across devices.

Samsung doubled its share price and is closing the year at highs. Though wearable performance contributed, the result also came from strong memory sales, chip growth and AI tools baked into its Android ecosystem.

Xiaomi had a smaller rise, closing the year up just under 16 percent. It was helped by growth across its product categories, not just smart bands.

Citizen’s return of nearly 39 percent is notable given it rarely dominates headlines. The Japanese watchmaker continues to explore hybrid and connected watches in niche segments, and investor confidence seems to have ticked upward despite limited smartwatch exposure compared to others in the list.

Garmin and Mobvoi struggled to excite investors

Garmin’s stock dipped slightly across the year, despite strong product updates in its Fenix, Venu and Forerunner lines. It’s not a failure, but it reflects a flat investor response to premium multi-sport watches that increasingly face pressure from cheaper competitors and alternative form factors like rings and patches. Also, the market reacted negatively in October to lower growth projections.

Mobvoi saw a bigger drop, ending the year down 21.7 percent. Its TicWatch line remains active and competitive in terms of specs, but visibility in Western markets is patchy. The company may also be pulling back from the smartwatch space and focusing on AI devices, instead.

Fossil is publicly traded. But the once smartwatch player, has now stepped back from the space to refocus on traditional watches. Hence, we have not included it in the comparisons.

Key wearable brands missing from public markets

You’ll notice that some of the biggest names in wearables don’t appear in this kind of stock roundup. Huawei remains a private firm, as does Polar. Suunto is now owned by Liesheng and is not listed. BBK Electronics, the parent of OnePlus and Oppo, does not offer a way to invest directly in wearables as a standalone vertical.

Whoop and Withings are also not publicly traded companies. CEO of Whoop Will Ahmed indicated in late 2025 that a public listing is more likely within the next two years, targeting a 2027 window rather than 2026.

This limits investor access to several high-volume or long-standing wearable brands, making the list of trackable public stocks narrower than one might expect given the size of the market.

Our takeaway

2025 was a mixed year for wearable tech stocks. Zepp Health delivered the highest return by far, while Alphabet, Samsung, and Citizen also posted strong gains. At the other end of the table, Garmin and Mobvoi struggled to gain traction, closing the year below or near where they started. The rest fell somewhere in between, with modest positive returns that mostly mirrored broader market trends.

As we head into 2026, this snapshot provides a useful benchmark. Some companies will look to hold their ground, others will try to recover lost value, and a few may aim to sustain the momentum they built over the past twelve months. Share prices will continue to reflect more than just wearable performance, but the sector remains one of the more dynamic corners of consumer tech

Certification activity confirms imminent release

The certification was published by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It confirms the OWW261 model name and references the device as a TD-LTE wireless terminal with Android OS.

The filing also mentions eSIM support, voice functionality and a single-antenna LTE design. The certificate was issued to Oppo Guangdong Mobile Communication Co., Ltd., with validity stretching through late 2027.

The location of manufacture is Dongguan City in Guangdong Province. Which ties in with Oppo’s typical smartwatch supply chain. This adds weight to speculation that the Watch X3 is entering final launch preparations.

Tipster @experiencemore claims the Watch X3 will switch from Oppo’s proprietary charging connector to USB-C. If accurate, this would be a welcome change, streamlining charging with a standard cable and removing the need for specialized hardware. Most Android phone owners already have USB-C cables on hand, which would simplify everyday use.

What the previous model tells us

The Oppo Watch X2 launched in China in February 2025. It packs a 1.5‑inch AMOLED display pushing up to 2,200 nits of brightness, a sapphire crystal mirror for protection and a titanium alloy bezel. The device stands out with a semi‑conical rotating crown and a secondary function button that also works as an ECG sensor.

Health tracking includes an 8‑channel heart rate sensor, a 16‑channel SpO2 sensor, wrist temperature tracking. Also available is a quick 60‑second physical exam feature that gathers key vitals. On the more novel front, Oppo debuted long‑term blood pressure monitoring in the X2, requiring consistent wear in full smart mode to activate risk alerts.

Battery life is good for up to 5 days in full smart mode and up to 16 days in light mode. This is supported by VOOC fast charging. Dual‑frequency GPS was included for more accurate outdoor tracking.

Watch X3 should build on this mix of robust health sensors, long endurance and smart features while adding USB‑C charging and full eSIM with LTE voice support. If it gets some healthy upgrades, it could shape up as a more self‑contained and practical watch for users who want network independence without carrying a phone.

Launch timing and expectations

Multiple sources suggest the Watch X3 will debut alongside the Oppo Find N6 foldable. With both devices likely targeting high-end users, a joint release makes sense. No exact launch date has been confirmed yet, but Oppo’s recent certification history points to an announcement within weeks. Most likely at the start of 2026.
