Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro is getting a new system update, with version 3.13.0.2 now showing for at least some users. The change-log points to tweaks around navigation, lactate threshold, music controls and workout screens.

Navigation gets clearer prompts

The first item in the release notes is improved navigation vibration and voice alerts. The wording says these should now give clearer turn and distance prompts, which is useful on a watch built with running and route guidance in mind.

The update does not appear to add a new mapping feature, at least from the visible release notes. It looks more like Zepp Health has worked on the delivery of existing navigation guidance, which is often where sports watches either feel polished or slightly unfinished.

Lactate threshold gets another polish

The other fitness-focused change is an enhanced lactate threshold function and algorithm. Zepp Health has been pushing lactate threshold more visibly across its recent Amazfit software updates, so it is not surprising to see the Cheetah 2 Pro getting more work in this area.

The release notes do not say exactly what changed. That means it is best to read this as refinement rather than a new lactate threshold feature. Still, it is a relevant update for the Cheetah 2 Pro because the watch sits in Amazfit’s performance running line, where these metrics carry more weight than they would on a basic lifestyle model.

Music and Launcher 2.0 also get attention

The update optimises the sports music experience. Users should now get quick access to third-party music from the music card, which should make audio switching easier during workouts.

Zepp Health has also refined Launcher 2.0 interactions. The change-log mentions the control centre, display interactions and transition animations, which suggests the watch interface should feel a little smoother after the update.

Workout screens should be easier to read on the move

Another useful line in the update notes mentions an updated workout screen layout for viewing key data quickly during high-speed movement. That sounds aimed at runners, cyclists and anyone using the watch while moving fast enough that small interface problems become obvious.

The interesting part here is not the layout change itself. It is the reason given. Zepp Health appears to be thinking about glanceability under movement, which is exactly where many sports watches can still fall short.

All things considered, version 3.13.0.2 looks like a maintenance update. No big new features but it’s still a fairly useful bundle for a 15.74MB update.

You can see the full change-log in the screenshots below.

A new Zepp Health FCC filing has revealed an Amazfit “Smart sensor” with the model number A2671, along with a second listed variant called A2672. The filing does not name the product, but the shape, specs and timing point strongly towards the next Helio Strap or Helio Core hardware.

Zepp Health has already said that it is working on next-generation Helio hardware for the second half of 2026. This filing now gives us the first real regulatory clue that something in that line is moving through the pipeline.

The filing points to a screenless sensor

The documents describe the product as a Smart sensor rather than a smartwatch, which is the first important clue. The device uses Bluetooth Low Energy in the 2.4GHz band, with no sign of GPS, Wi-Fi, LTE, NFC or any other wireless system in the visible documents.

The external drawing is more interesting than the radio details. It shows a small rectangular module with rounded corners, a large circular sensor area on the back and two charging contacts below it. That layout pretty much matches the exact shape of the first generation Helio Strap

The model numbers are also worth noting. A2671 and A2672 do not match the current Helio Strap model references we have seen before, which suggests this is not simply the same device being copied across another document. It’s also noteworthy that two variants of the same underlying sensor module are listed. That could mean regional versions, different bundles or a standalone core and strap package.

Visible upgrades are limited for now

The interesting part is that the visible specs do not scream major hardware overhaul. The battery is listed at 230mAh, which is very close to the current Helio Core’s listed capacity. The label still shows 5 ATM water resistance and the filing focuses on basic BLE connectivity.

That does not mean upgrades are absent. FCC documents are useful for radio, battery and external design clues, but they don’t tell the full product story. Improvements to optical sensor layout, algorithms, strap design, app integration, recovery metrics or training guidance could easily sit outside the visible filing.

This is where the Helio Strap 2 story becomes more nuanced. The documents suggest continuity rather than a dramatic redesign, but they also suggest Zepp Health is preparing fresh hardware.

Helio Core Gen 1

A stronger signal than roadmap talk

Until now, Helio Strap 2 sat mostly in roadmap territory. Zepp Health had already hinted that more Helio hardware was coming, but there was little to point to beyond that. This FCC filing changes the picture because it gives us a model number, a physical outline, wireless details and an Amazfit-branded smart sensor label.

The confidentiality request is also useful. Zepp Health asked for the external photos, internal photos, test setup photos and user manual to stay hidden until the device is marketed, or for 180 days from the FCC grant date, whichever comes first. The request itself is dated May 12th, 2026, so if the grant date sits around the same period, the withheld material would likely become public around early to mid November 2026 unless the product launches before then.

That lines up with the company’s earlier second-half 2026 comments around next-generation Helio hardware. It is not the same as a launch confirmation, but this is the kind of regulatory breadcrumb that usually appears when hardware is moving closer to release.

This article originally appeared on Gadgets & Wearables, the first media outlet to report the story.

Zepp Health has started rolling out firmware version 3.28.8.1 for the Amazfit Balance, and this is not just a minor stability patch. The update adds the new BioCharge metric, support for using Helio Strap as a workout heart rate monitor, Stryd accessory support and a handful of other stuff.

The update package is listed at 13.18MB, so it is fairly small. But the change log itself is quite broad. It touches recovery, workouts, activity reminders, weather, maps, Zepp Coach and even how the digital crown behaves on the watch face.

We actually knew this update was coming. The company has started publishing a roadmap of upcoming firmware refreshes, and this was scheduled for May.

BioCharge replaces Readiness

The main change for Balance is the long awaited arrival of BioCharge. This replaces the Readiness score and delivers a more accurate body energy evaluation and recovery experience.

The new crop of watches has had this metric for a while. And real-world tests show that is it a bit better than the old metric.

Interestingly, Zepp Health has started rolling an even newer version of this called HybridCharge. Presumably, this will be coming to Balance, as well, considering it is an update to the smartphone app.

Helio Strap gets a more useful role

Another upgrade as part of the new firmware is support for using Helio Strap as a heart rate monitor during workouts. That is interesting wording. It suggests you can pair the Helio Strap to your Balance device, as you would a heart rate chest strap.

A wrist-based watch can struggle during certain sessions. Strength training, cycling and workouts with lots of wrist flexion can all make optical heart rate more messy. A strap worn higher on the arm can often sit more securely and produce cleaner readings.

Stryd support is another running-focused addition

Zepp Health has also added support for the Stryd accessory. This gives runners another way to pull more detailed running data into the Balance experience after connection.

Stryd is already well known among runners who train with running power and extra footpod metrics. Bringing that support to Amazfit Balance makes the watch a little more serious for structured running. It also fits with Zepp Health’s recent push into coaching tools, lactate threshold features and more advanced training guidance.

This does not suddenly turn the Balance into a pure running watch. But it does make the platform feel more open to external sensors, which is exactly where a lot of wearable ecosystems need to go. A watch can do plenty on its own, but serious training often benefits from better sensor placement and more specialised accessories.

Digital crown and smaller fixes

The update also adds a new digital crown interaction for Button Mode on the watch face. Rotating the crown up opens Notifications, while rotating it down opens Control Center.

The rest of the change log focuses on fixes and optimisations. Zepp Health says it has improved activity reminders, fixed abnormal pushes when the app was not initialised and improved scoring for Zepp Coach running training plans. You can see the full change-log below.

The update is rolling out now to Amazfit Balance users. As usual, availability may vary by region and app version, so it may not appear for everyone at the exact same time.

Change-log

[New]

Added the new BioCharge app to replace the Readiness app, delivering more accurate body energy evaluation and an optimized recovery experience.

Added digital crown interaction: In Button Mode on the watch face, rotate up for Notifications and down for Control Center.

Added support for using the Helio Strap as a heart rate monitor during workouts, enabling more accurate training data.

Added support for the Stryd accessory, providing more comprehensive and accurate data after connection.

[Optimizations]

Zepp Health has started changing BioCharge into HybridCharge in the Zepp app, giving its daily energy score a new name and a slightly broader purpose. The change appears to be app-side for now, as some Amazfit watches may still refer to the feature as BioCharge.

BioCharge gets a broader rethink

Zepp app 10.4.0 introduces HybridCharge as the new version of BioCharge. The app describes it as a daily energy score that combines training and recovery data to assess how ready you are for the day.

The interesting bit is not just the new name. HybridCharge brings subjective inputs into the mix through LifeLoad and RPE. That means Zepp Health is no longer relying only on sleep, heart rate, activity and recovery data. It also wants to know what happened in your actual day.

That is a sensible direction. Wearables can estimate plenty from the wrist, but they still miss context. A watch might see decent sleep and a normal resting heart rate, but it does not automatically know you feel sick, sore, stressed, mentally drained or unusually motivated.

LifeLoad gives the score more context

The new LifeLoad log lets users record daily factors that could affect recovery and readiness. The screenshots show options such as feeling sick, muscle soreness, joint pain, injury, feeling fatigued and feeling energized. Each can be marked as low, medium or high impact.

There is also a chat-style logging option, which could make the feature easier to use if Zepp Health keeps it simple. It might be easier than manual logs whichoften sound useful at launch, then quietly disappear from people’s routines after a week.

Still, the thinking is solid. HybridCharge tries to combine objective signals from the watch with subjective context from the user. That should give the score a better chance of matching how someone actually feels.

Training Focus adds a practical layer

Training Focus is the other useful part of this update. Rather than treating readiness as a single daily score, Zepp Health is now trying to steer users toward the type of training that best fits their recent load.

The app breaks the past seven days into endurance and strength work, with a goal marker showing the intended balance. That should make it easier to spot when training has become too one-sided, especially for users mixing running, gym work and hybrid events.

The Zepp app 10.4.0 notes also mention a HYROX Training Library and HYROX Race Analysis. The Training Library promises structured workouts for different fitness levels and goals, while Race Analysis is designed to review race performance and highlight strengths and weaknesses.

Still early, but worth watching

The rollout still feels unfinished. HybridCharge now appears in the app, but some watches still show BioCharge. That is not a major issue, but it does suggest Zepp Health is changing the app first and will probably clean up the device wording later.

The bigger question is whether users will keep logging LifeLoad events. If they do, HybridCharge could become more useful than BioCharge. If they do not, it may end up as a cleaner name wrapped around a familiar readiness score.

Zepp Health already has the Helio Strap, but the next version now looks more important than it did a few months ago. Fitbit Air has pushed screen-free trackers into a much brighter spotlight, and Helio Strap 2 could arrive just as buyers start paying more attention to discreet recovery tracking.

Why this product suddenly looks more relevant

Whoop built the premium version of the idea but Fitbit Air has now taken it mainstream. And Zepp Health already has something in the same lane without a subscription attached.

That gives Helio Strap 2 a clear opening. It does not need to beat Whoop feature for feature, and it does not need to copy Fitbit Air either. It needs to be the simpler, sports-focused option for people who want recovery and workout tracking without wearing a smartwatch all day.

That group is larger than it looks. Some people wear mechanical watches. Some already use a Garmin, Apple Watch or Amazfit watch but do not want it on their wrist at night. Others want a discreet tracker for sleep, gym sessions or recovery trends. A strap makes sense for them if it stays comfortable and the app does not get in the way.

What Helio Strap 2 should improve

As far as Strap 2, comfort should be one of the first upgrades. A screenless tracker only works if people forget it is there, so a thinner pod, softer strap and better fit would be more useful than a long list of new software labels.

Strong workout heart-rate accuracy should be another priority. Helio Strap 2 could possibly also double as a heart-rate monitor for connected watches. If worn on the upper arm, the signal should be more accurate than a watch sitting on the wrist, especially during strength training, cycling and other sessions where wrist-based readings can struggle.

Battery life should remain a key selling point. The current Helio Strap already claims up to 10 days, which puts it in a good place against Fitbit Air and keeps it well away from daily charging. A cleaner charger or faster top-ups would make the next version feel more polished without changing the idea.

The Zepp App is just as important as the hardware. With no screen on the device, the phone app becomes the whole interface. The software has improved quite a bit over the past year or so, but it still lags behind some other brands. If the app feels clunky, drops workout sessions or makes recovery data hard to interpret, the strap loses much of its appeal.

The real upgrade is smarter data handling

Zepp Health has one advantage over some rivals. It already sells watches, rings and straps, so it can build a broader health ecosystem. But that only works if the data from those devices merges cleanly.

That should be a major focus for Helio Strap 2. If someone wears an Amazfit watch during the day, a Helio Strap during training and perhaps a ring at night, the app needs to explain which device supplied the data. It also needs to avoid duplicate readings and confusing recovery scores.

When Helio Strap 2 could launch

We already have some info on a likely launch date. At its recent earnings call, it was revealed that the next-generation Helio hardware is expected in the second half of 2026. That points to a product that is already on the roadmap, but probably not days away.

The current Helio Strap also appears to be selling well. Zepp Health has been increasing production capacity, which suggests demand has been stronger than expected rather than the product being quietly phased out.

An autumn or late-2026 next-gen release would make sense. It would give Zepp Health time to respond to Fitbit Air, improve the hardware and sharpen the software story before launch. A much earlier release would need stronger signs, such as a regulatory filing, app code or a retailer leak.

Zepp Health does not need to do a drastic overhaul. The winning version is simple: thinner hardware, better comfort, software improvements and the same no-subscription pitch.

Zepp Health has now made the Cheetah 2 Ultra official, and it lands as the more endurance-focused sibling to the Cheetah 2 Pro. The new model pushes the line further toward trail and ultra-distance running, while the Pro remains the lighter option for marathon and performance training.

The Ultra is built around longer distances

The clearest split is positioning. Zepp Health describes the Cheetah 2 Ultra as a watch built for trail runners dealing with prolonged exposure, unpredictable terrain and sustained load. That explains much of the hardware direction.

This is the model for people who want more screen space, more battery capacity, more storage and proper offline mapping support. The official listing also mentions full-colour contour maps with 2.5x faster render and Trail Running mode with load settings, which gives the Ultra a much clearer outdoor identity than the standard Cheetah pitch.

Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra

The Cheetah 2 Pro sits in a slightly different lane. It is aimed more at marathon and performance running, with a lighter build and a display that is smaller but sharper on paper. So this is not simply a better versus worse comparison.

It looks more like Zepp Health has separated the Cheetah line into two flavours of serious running watch. One is built for longer trail efforts, while the other keeps the road-running focus.

The Ultra is heavier but not much larger

The Cheetah 2 Ultra measures 47.4 x 47.4mm across the case. Zepp Health lists the thickness as 15.6mm including the heart rate sensor and 13.3mm excluding it.

The Cheetah 2 Pro is very close in size. It measures 48 x 48mm across the case, with thickness listed at 15.6mm including the heart rate sensor and 13.2mm excluding it. So the two watches are almost identical on thickness, while the Pro is fractionally wider.

The bigger difference is weight. The Cheetah 2 Ultra weighs 52 grams without the strap, while the Cheetah 2 Pro comes in at 45.6 grams without the strap.

Amazfit Cheetah 2 pro

Zepp Health has also given the Ultra a 22mm strap setup. The official specs list black silicone and striped green nylon options, while the Pro uses a 20mm silicone strap with a classic pin buckle.

That wider strap fits the Ultra’s outdoor direction. A nylon option also makes sense for longer efforts, especially if you want something more breathable than silicone.

The display is bigger on the Ultra

The display is one of the easiest differences to understand. The Cheetah 2 Ultra has a 1.5 inch AMOLED screen with sapphire glass, a 480 x 480 resolution, 323 PPI and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits.

The Cheetah 2 Pro has a 1.32 inch AMOLED screen with sapphire glass, a 466 x 466 resolution, 353 PPI and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. So the brightness figure is aligned, but the Ultra gives you the larger canvas.

That should help with maps, workout pages and glanceability during longer outdoor sessions. For a trail watch, that makes sense. More visible data on the wrist is useful when the terrain is uneven and stopping to fiddle with screens gets annoying fast.

Battery and storage are the big hardware wins

Battery is where the Ultra pulls ahead most clearly. It has a 780 mAh battery and is listed for up to 30 days of typical use, up to 60 hours in Accurate GPS mode, up to 33 hours in Trail Running mode and up to 228 hours in maximum GPS battery mode.

The Cheetah 2 Pro has a smaller 540 mAh battery. It is good for up to 20 days of typical use, up to 10 days of heavy use, up to 8 days with AOD enabled, up to 31 hours in Accurate GPS mode, up to 69 hours in GPS power saving mode and up to 99 hours in extended GPS mode.

So the Ultra still has the stronger endurance story, especially for long trail efforts. But the Pro is not weak on battery. It just sits in a more road-running and structured-training lane.

Storage also doubles. The Cheetah 2 Ultra has 64GB, while the Cheetah 2 Pro has 32GB. That gives the Ultra more room for maps, music and offline use.

The core platform looks very similar

A lot of the underlying hardware appears to be shared. Both watches use a BioTracker 6.0 PPG biometric sensor with 5PD and 2LED. Both also include acceleration, gyroscope, ambient light, geomagnetic, temperature and barometric altimeter sensors.

Satellite positioning also looks aligned. Both support dual-band positioning and six satellite positioning systems, so the Ultra does not appear to get a different GPS class on paper. The real difference is how long each watch can keep going while using those tools.

Connectivity is slightly different in the official spec sheets. The Cheetah 2 Ultra is listed with Bluetooth, BLE 5.2 and Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, while the Cheetah 2 Pro lists Bluetooth, BLE 5.3 and Wi-Fi 2.4GHz.

The same applies to the general hardware extras. Both watches include a Led flashlight. The difference is that Pro has a white flashlight, while Ultra have a more capable white, red SOS, Boost combination. Beyond that the duo has a microphone, speaker and linear motor, so the day-to-day control and utility setup looks broadly aligned.

The Ultra gets the fuller outdoor package

The official Cheetah 2 Ultra listing also gives it 180+ sports modes, while the Cheetah 2 Pro lists 170+. That difference is not huge on its own, but it does reinforce the same split seen elsewhere. The Ultra gets the broader outdoor package, while the Pro keeps the lighter road-running focus.

The running feature set is also broad. Zepp Health lists built-in running workouts, Zepp Coach running plans, lactate threshold, running power, ground contact time, running gear management, Track Run mode, smart trajectory correction and virtual pacer.

It also supports connection to peripheral workout devices, including heart rate belts, running power meters, cycling power meters, cycling speedometers and cycling cadence meters. Third-party syncing includes Runna, Strava, TrainingPeaks, Apple Health, Google Fit and Intervals.icu.

Which one looks more useful

Cheetah 2 Ultra is the one built for longer, rougher runs, where battery life, screen size, mapping and storage matter more than shaving off every gram. The 1.5 inch display, 780 mAh battery, 64GB of storage, 22mm strap, 180+ sports modes and 33 hours in Trail Running mode all point in the same direction.

Cheetah 2 Pro is the leaner road-running option. It is lighter, has the sharper display on paper and still keeps the same broad running toolkit and support for external sensors.

So the split is pretty clean. Cheetah 2 Ultra makes more sense if you want the Cheetah line pushed toward trails, ultras and longer outdoor sessions. Cheetah 2 Pro makes more sense if you want the lighter marathon-focused watch.

Both watches are up on the Zepp Health website now.

Zepp Health has released software version 4.8.3.5 for the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2, with the update dated May 8, 2026. It adds clearer workout data, improves route navigation behaviour and tweaks the VO2 Max algorithm for better accuracy.

The update focuses mostly on outdoor use, which fits the positioning of the T-Rex Ultra 2. This is a watch built around route guidance, rugged design and longer training sessions where small software details can make a noticeable difference.

Better workout data while training

For starters, users will now get a heart rate zone display during workouts. It can be enabled from Workout, Workout Settings, Data Pages and Heart Rate Zone. That should make effort-based training easier to follow during structured sessions. Instead of relying only on pace or heart rate numbers, users can see their current zone more clearly while they train.

The VO2 Max algorithm has been improved. The changelog does not go into detail, so it is difficult to know how much this will affect individual users.

Zepp Health has also added new workout data items for route-based activities. The watch can now show remaining distance, remaining ascent and remaining descent to the next waypoint and the final destination.

Route navigation gets cleaner

As far as navigation, the update improves turn-by-turn reminders. Zepp Health says it has optimized the sensitivity of those alerts, which should help reduce awkward timing when following a route.

Good navigation depends on alert timing. A reminder that arrives too late can send you past a turn, while one that triggers too often becomes distracting.

The company has also adjusted navigation-related text, including starting point settings and the arrival at destination page. These are interface refinements rather than major new features, but they matter when using a watch outdoors and trying to read guidance at a glance.

Track page interaction during workouts has also been improved. When entering edit mode, the touchscreen now activates directly, which should make mid-workout adjustments feel less clunky.

One other thing we spotted in our teardown of the APK of the latest Zepp Health app are direct route imports from Strava. But this is not live yet, hopefully it will be coming in the future.

A sensible update

Overall, software version 4.8.3.5 looks like a sensible update for the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2. It does not try to reinvent the watch, but it improves the outdoor and training tools that owners are most likely to use.

For users who rely on route navigation, waypoint data and effort-based training, this is worth installing when it appears in the Zepp app. As always, this is a gradual rollout.

Our APK teardown of Zepp Health 10.3.0 has uncovered new references that point to direct Strava route import for Amazfit watches. This suggests Android users may soon be able to pull saved Strava routes into the Zepp ecosystem instead of relying on manual file imports.

This goes beyond ordinary Strava activity syncing. Amazfit watches already push completed workouts to Strava after an activity. The new APK points towards the opposite direction, with Zepp Health retrieving saved routes from a user’s Strava account.

The new strings point towards saved route retrieval

The latest app build contains references such as StravaRouteActivity, sportRoute/strava and route-specific API paths tied to Strava routes. There are also new user-facing strings explaining that users may need to reconnect their Strava account and enable private activity sharing so Zepp can retrieve saved routes.

The wording says Zepp will not access other private content or activities. That makes this look like a route-planning feature rather than a standard sync connection.

When Zepp enables this publicly, the process will become much cleaner for runners, cyclists and hikers who already build or save routes in Strava. Instead of exporting GPX files manually and importing them into Zepp Health, users could potentially pull routes across directly from their Strava account.

Since we originally wrote this article it has come to our attention that direct Strava import is already available on iOS. But it looks to be coming to Android phone users soon.

The map side of the app is also getting attention

The same APK contains expanded references to terrain maps, offline map downloads and interrupted transfer handling. New strings mention terrain map updates, low battery warnings during downloads, insufficient watch storage and the ability to resume interrupted downloads through Download Manager.

One line specifically says the updated terrain map will “match more suitable paths in offline planning”. That suggests Zepp is also refining the route-planning side of the app rather than simply updating map visuals.

This fits with the broader direction Zepp Health has been taking over the past year. Watches such as the Balance series and T-Rex line have steadily gained stronger navigation and outdoor features, particularly on the higher-end models.

The groundwork appears to be there

Evidence inside Zepp Health 10.3.0 points clearly towards direct Strava saved-route retrieval becoming part of the Android app. For Amazfit users who already use Strava for planning routes, that will remove one of the more awkward parts of the current workflow.

The update also suggests Zepp is spending more time refining the software experience around maps and navigation, not just adding hardware features to new watches. When the Strava route flow goes live, it will make Amazfit watches a little easier to live with for users who plan their training outside Zepp Health.

An APK teardown helps predict features that may arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code. However, it is possible that such predicted features may not make it to a public release.

Zepp OS 6 is coming in May, according to Zepp Health’s new public Amazfit software roadmap. The same roadmap also shows Balance getting BioCharge, Stryd, Helio Strap support and TrainingPeaks plus Intervals.icu integration, while Balance 2 is due a HYROX Race mode update in June.

Zepp OS 6 is the big one

The most important item is Zepp OS 6. It appears in the May column without much detail, but a full operating system generation is still the headline here.

Zepp Health has not explained what Zepp OS 6 changes, so there is no point guessing a new interface, new apps or specific performance gains. The safer read is that Zepp Health is preparing the next software layer for its watch platform. That could affect how future features work across watches, the Zepp Health app and Zepp Flow.

That makes Zepp OS 6 the strategic part of the roadmap. The individual feature updates are easier to understand today, but the OS jump is the bigger signal.

Balance gets the strongest May package

The original Balance gets the clearest May upgrade bundle. The roadmap shows BioCharge support, Stryd support, Helio Strap support and integration with TrainingPeaks plus Intervals.icu.

That is a strong set of additions for a watch that already sits in the more serious fitness part of the Amazfit range. Helio Strap support also stands out. It shows Zepp Health tying its watches and external sensors more closely together.

Zepp Flow gets more useful

Zepp Flow also gets a sizeable May update. The roadmap says it will be able to answer questions about Launcher 2.0, add Thai and Czech language support and query fatigue level, physical capacity, training status and lactate threshold data.

It will also be able to initiate a lactate threshold test and training library workouts. That makes Zepp Flow more useful for training rather than just basic voice control.

This is where the roadmap becomes more interesting. Voice assistants on watches can feel shallow when they only handle simple commands. But asking about fatigue, training status or lactate threshold is different. These are exactly the sort of things users may want quickly, without digging through menus.

Balance 2 gets HYROX next

Balance 2 gets HYROX Race mode in June. That fits Amazfit’s recent push into more specific sports modes rather than relying only on generic workout profiles.

Active 3 Premium gets a training calendar and Pickleball 2.0 in May, while Active Max gets Pickleball 2.0 in June. Helio Strap also gets a sleep algorithm update, which keeps it relevant beyond workout heart rate tracking.

You can view the roadmap in full on the Zepp Health website.

Amazfit users finally have a direct route into Runalyze, with Zepp Health account sync now available for activities, sleep and HRV. We came across the new connection live on the platform, where new data now moves across automatically after setup instead of relying on old export tricks, paid middle steps and messy file handoffs.

That is good news if you use an Amazfit watch for structured training but prefer Runalyze for deeper analysis. Amazfit devices have become much more capable in recent years, but external platform support still plays a big role for runners and cyclists who want to keep their training history in one place.

What the new connection does

The integration lets users connect their Zepp Health account directly to Runalyze. After that, new activities such as running and cycling can sync automatically. Sleep data and heart rate variability also come across, which makes this more useful than a simple workout export.

That broader data mix is the main point here. Runalyze already gives users detailed tools for analysing load, fitness trends and recovery. Adding sleep and HRV from Amazfit devices gives those charts more context, especially during heavier training blocks or periods when recovery starts to drift.

This also makes the setup much cleaner. Until now, Amazfit users who wanted their data in Runalyze often had to rely on a chain of services. One common workaround involved syncing to Intervals.icu, exporting to Dropbox and then using RunGap to move the file onwards. It worked, but it was clunky and not entirely free.

The direct connection removes that friction. It also helps users avoid using other platforms as a middle layer. For people who care about clean training records, that is probably the biggest practical benefit.

To link the two accounts simply go to the Configuration section in Runalize. Then click on Services and choose Amazfit. This link will take you directly to that page. Then it’s a matter of signing into your Zepp Health account and giving Runalize the necessary permissions.

Historical import is not ready yet

There is one catch worth mentioning. The connection currently works only for new data after setup. Existing activities, sleep records and HRV history from Zepp Health do not come across yet.

Runalyze says historical import is already in development and will be available soon. Once that arrives, users should be able to bring older Amazfit data into the same Runalyze account, instead of only building the record from today onwards.

For now, it makes sense to connect early if you plan to use the feature. That way, fresh data starts flowing immediately and the backfill can fill the older gaps later.

Our takeaway

This is a small software addition, but it improves the practical value of Amazfit watches for serious training. The hardware side has moved on quickly, with better battery life, stronger health tracking and more advanced sports features across recent models.

The platform side still counts, though. A good watch becomes more useful when the data can leave the companion app cleanly and land in tools people already use. Runalyze is one of those tools for runners who want more than a basic weekly summary.

That makes this a sensible integration rather than a headline grabbing one. It gives Amazfit users a cleaner workflow, gives Runalyze access to more complete recovery data and removes a workaround that many people only tolerated because there was no better option.
