First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day was founded to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Events in nearly 200 countries are now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network. This year, the focus will be on providing information and inspiration needed to change human attitude and behavior about plastics.
The 2018 challenge was discovered by Kyle Seth Gray and first reported on 9to5Mac. Just like last year, it will go live on the 22nd of April. Completing the task will unlock a bunch of eco-friendly animated stickers.
The latest challenge comes hot on the heels of the International Women’s Day challenge. This one required users to double their move ring on February 8th. Other challenges issued this year include the Apple Heart Month Challenge and New Year Challenge.
While some of Apple’s challenges are limited to certain countries, the yet-to-be announced 2018 Earth Day challenge will be available globally.
