As revealed by 9to5Mac, the New Year challenge is set to start appearing in the coming weeks. Users will receive a notification informing them what they need to do to win the iMessage sticker and medal in the Activity app.
A before, it boils down to closing the activity rings for seven consecutive days between January 7th (when the challenge starts) and January 31st. This can be done one of three ways:
- Stand for at least one minute across 12 different hours,
- Do a 30 minute workout or
- Burn your personal active calorie goal.
The challenge was mysteriously missing in 2019 after two years running. The design of the award has remained the same, its only the year that has changed. This follows last month’s challenge that required users to walk or run 5 kilometers on Thanksgiving Day. But unlike the Thanksgiving badge, the New Year challenge will be available both to those in the US and other countries.
This is all timed nicely to help with those New Year resolutions. The challenge will also come in handy when it comes to shedding those extra holiday pounds.
