Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro Black Gold edition lands in the US
Zepp Health has just launched the Black Gold version of the T-Rex 3 Pro in the US. A more compact 44mm version is also on the way, set to land next month in two colours.
The new editions keep the same feature set but add more choice in design and wearability. Here’s what you need to know.
Black Gold edition is now available
The Black Gold version sticks with the 48mm case but trades the matte look of the Tactical Black version for something a bit flashier. The titanium bezel and buttons now come in a snazzy gold finish, paired with a black case and strap.
There’s no change to performance or internals. You still get the same rugged build, the same BioCharge readiness score, along with the same tools aimed at outdoor users. The changes in the new version are purely cosmetic, but this gives people more choice when picking up the Pro model.
At the moment, the Black Gold edition is only available in the US. Wider rollout is expected in the weeks ahead.
A 44mm version lands soon
Amazfit will also be releasing a smaller 44mm version of the T-Rex 3 Pro in late October. It keeps all the same features as the 48mm model, just in a more compact form. That means sapphire glass, titanium bezel, LED flashlight, offline maps, speaker and long battery life. But all of this will be wrapped in a case better suited to smaller wrists. Something more unisex.
The 44mm version will be offered in Arctic Gold and Black Gold finishes. This is the first time a T-Rex watch has come in two sizes – a good move by the company as it makes the watch a better fit for more people.
Recap of the T-Rex 3 Pro
I recently reviewed the 48mm Tactical Black version of the T-Rex 3 Pro and found it to be Zepp Health’s most polished outdoor watch yet. It takes the core of the T-Rex 3 and adds just enough refinement to push it into more premium territory. The titanium and sapphire upgrades help, but so do the other extras like the flashlight and speaker.
Battery life remains a strong point, even with the brighter screen and added sensors. The new BioCharge score gives a quick read on daily recovery, and it integrates nicely into the watch’s overall wellness tracking.
Navigation features are solid, GPS accuracy is strong, and the watch feels quick and responsive. While the software is a bit more stripped back than on the Balance, and smart features don’t go far beyond the basics, it nails the fitness side of things.
At $399, it’s not cheap. But it undercuts more expensive outdoor watches like the Garmin Fenix while still offering a very capable set of tools. For people who want a rugged GPS watch with real battery endurance, the T-Rex 3 Pro delivers most of what matters.
