While there are a large number of health and fitness gadgets on the market, only a handful are designed specifically for women. Bellabeat, one of the leading companies in this area, has just launched a new wearable. The Leaf Urban builds on the original Leaf device, and arrives alongside a new mobile application to help women track and manage stress.

Founded in 2014, Bellabeat is a wellness-oriented company dedicated to creating attractive connected wearables for women. The company has distributed over 400,000 of its original Leaf device, launched a little over a year ago. The Leaf features a pleasing aesthetic design, but it is also very basic in comparison to the more established activity tracking brands.

Bellabeat has now released its next generation tracker. Leaf Urban is designed to work with the Leaf app to track women’s activity and sleep, provide an overview about reproductive health, and now, with a brand new feature, helps predict and manage stress. The new stress-predicting feature analyzes different lifestyle habits to help you not only manage stress, but also prevent it by determining the triggers that cause it.

“Based on the data we collected from the first generation of Leaf, we were able to find a correlation between activity, sleep, a woman’s period and stress levels,” explains Bellabeat co-founder and CEO Urska Srsen.

“Now we are able to predict which parameters, such as lack of sleep, will cause stress levels to be higher and give valuable health feedback to our users.”

In addition to the new stress-management feature, the device also features new mindfulness-tracking technology. You can choose from a dozen meditation exercises to help manage menstrual discomfort and stress.

The Urban features a slightly different design and is smaller and lighter than the Leaf. Made with water-resistant certified wood composite and stainless steel, it maintains the natural look and feel that made the original device so appealing. The device operates on a removable coin cell battery CR 2032 that can easily be replaced when it is exhausted. The battery life is approximately 6 months.

“Without our dedicated vocal users we would not have been able to create our product and get it to market as quickly as we did,” added Urska.

“Our loyal fan base continually helps us create, develop and improve a useful and seamless ecosystem of wellness products that work organically within a woman’s lifestyle.”

This is very fashionable device with features some appealing features. An all-day fitness tracker that can be worn as a clip, bracelet or necklace.
