We all know sleep is important. It makes you feel better, but its importance goes way beyond just boosting your mood. Sleep plays an important role in your physical health and is involved in healing and repair of your heart and blood vessels. Ongoing sleep deficiency is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke.
Better sleep starts by knowing what’s happening at night. While this industry is still in its infancy, there has already been a boom in health and fitness wearables offering advanced sleep tracking. The newest kid on the block is The Beautyrest Sleeptracker Monitor

Beautyrest Sleeptracker differs from the competition in that it slips under the mattress to pair with any mattress or foundation, allowing individuals to make any bed a smart bed. The other important difference is that it can be used to monitor up to two sleepers at once.
“As one of the most trusted and recognizable bedding brands nationwide, we are proud to embrace the smart home movement with technology that provides a deeper understanding of how we sleep,” said Jim Gallman, Executive Vice President of Beautyrest Marketing.
“The Beautyrest Sleeptracker monitor allows consumers to optimize their sleep habits and make improvements that can have dramatic implications for their overall quality of life.”
The fully integrated, Alexa enabled, wearable-free system is designed to continuously monitor all stages of each persons nighttime activity; from light to deep sleep, and restorative REM sleep. The sensors collect and process information on heart rate, respiration rate and movement. Beautyrest says their sleep tracking solution is 90% accurate when measuring heart rate and breathing rate for the vast majority of the population, 90% of the time.
The accompanying smartphone app translates this information into smart, actionable advice designed to help users unlock a better night’s sleep and a more productive next day. The app is available on both Google Play and the App Store.
The sleep monitor plugs directly into a wall outlet, is completely non-invasive and requires no changes to day-to-day bedding. It can be set to automatically monitor sleep data when users fall asleep unexpectedly and there is a Sleep Cycle Alarm too, which that detects a light stage of sleep in order to wake users at the ideal time in their sleep cycle.
