Movado Connect launches with over 100 customisable dial variations
The Movado Connect has landed a bit earlier than expected. The Android Wear device combines a clean look that is based on the company’s classic Museum model with some more advanced specs.
Announced at Baselworld earlier this year, this is a watch built for fans of the stylish yet minimalist look. It sports a 46.5 mm gold ion-plated stainless steel case and round digital dial with edge to edge crystal. With over 100 customizable dial variations and various strap options, you are sure to find one that suits your taste.
But its not just about looks. Movado Connect offers a full feature-set including notifications (for phone calls, appointments, emails, appointments and social media messages), Google Fit (for monitoring your steps, distance and calories), Google Assistant, apps and music. It is also NFC enabled for Android Pay.
A Snapdragon 2100 processor, with 512MB RAM and 4GB of storage powers the whole thing. Sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, microphone and ambient light sensor. A 400×400 pixel, 1.39″ AMOLED screen and Bluetooth BLE 4.1, WiFi connectivity round off the specs. Don’t look for built-in GPS or a heart rate sensor, you won’t find them.
Unfortunately, this is another gadget you will need to charge often, as the 300mah battery is only good for up to 24 hours of typical usage. Charing takes about two hours from a dead battery.
There are a number of beautiful looking models to choose from and they range from $595 to $995. Movado Connect was originally expected the launch in the fall, but its landed early exclusively on the company’s website.
