INIE Belt: a fashionable belt that helps to monitor your health
Intelligent garments are few and far between but in the not too distant future, they should be the norm. After all, connected tech is at its best when its inconspicuous. Just launched on Kickstarter, INIE Belt is not the first device of its kind, but it probably is the most multi-functional.
The fashionable looking, smart belt is crafted from exposed stitched leather and accented with a smooth metal branded buckle. While it looks like a traditional belt, hidden in the buckle is high tech that helps to monitor your health, provide alerts to avoid missing phone calls and keep tabs on the location of your smartphone.

First off, the smart garment functions as a pedometer and will count and record every step you make. Simply put on the belt and tracking will start automatically. To make sure you are moving enough the belt will nudge you from time to time with vibrating alerts. You’ll even be able to see stats in the accompanying iOS or Android smartphone app on how long you spend sitting around each day.
Away from the fitness features, the belt has built-in Bluetooth functionality which allows it to alert you whenever a phone call is received. You will need to take your phone out of your pocket to speak to the person though… Just in case you leave your phone behind in a restaurant or your car, INIE will altert you whenever your phone is out of reach.
You’ll be happy to know, there is no need to charge the intelligent garment too often. It actually comes with two options. One features a replaceable high capacity battery that is good for 2 years without a charge. The other a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 30 days on a single charge.
Oh, and you can forget about belt holes. Every time you put on INIE, it will tighten and lock itself at your exact waist size automatically!
