The little gadget attaches to your racquet in one of three ways. Via the Flex mount which works on any racquet and can be reused, the Pro mount which is taped to a single racquet of your choice and the Insert mount which only works on selected models. The device captures over 1,000 data points per second, and wirelessly sends the information to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth.
Zepp Tennis 2 tracks forehands, backhands, serves, volleys and smashes, including the power generated with each stroke or over the course of a whole game. It also measures top-spins, slices and flat shots and records the amount of time you spent actively on the court. Ball speed and ball spin speed are additional metrics that are only available on the second generation device.
The statistics also show how often you are hitting the ball in and around the sweet spot. With new Smart Capture technology, you can now use video tools to automatically film every swing and generate a highlight reel.
There are also various social features, leaderboards and an active community of Zepp enthusiasts. You can meet new friends, and keep track of their progress and results.
Zepp 2 is available now on Amazon and other retailers.
