iOS 11 GM leak gives us the first images of Apple Watch 3

The pics on this page may be our first glimpse at the upcoming Apple Watch Series 3.

Uncovered by 9to5Mac within the Grand Master (GM) of iOS 11, they show an Apple Watch pairing screen. Visually, the new device does not seem all too different from its predecessor, the main change being the red dot on the digital crown.

The more important differences are, however, on the inside. It was rumored that Apple would debut a cellular connected device this year. An LTE connection means you will be able to connect to the internet and check your emails, download songs and update apps, all without your iPhone.

The screenshots seem to confirm this. If you pay close attention you can just make out the four green dots in the middle of the never before seen watch face. This may be the signal meter indicating the strength of the cellular connection. Furthermore, the pics shows complications for phone and navigation.

What’s more, iOS 11 GM reveals that Apple’s LTE watch will use the same telephone number as your iPhone. So depending on settings, anyone calling you would automatically connect with both your smartphone and watch. Whether you will actually need to pay extra for this service remains to be seen.

In addition to wireless LTE connectivity, the Apple watch is rumored to have new health sensors, possibly smartbands and hopefully a boost to battery life. We can also expect Apple Watch Series 3 to come with a faster processor and more RAM.

We’ll find out soon enough. The much rumored third generation device is expected to make its debut alongside the iPhone 8 on September 12th.
