What if you didn’t have to charge your smartwatch every day? In fact, what if you never had to charge it?
Powered only by your body heat, PowerWatch solves this problem. The device comes with thermoelectric technology inside the casing, which converts heat to electric power. The company raised some $1.6 million on Indiegogo last year to develop the gadget.

The Bay Area-startup is back this year at CES 2018, showcasing a new version of the watch. Dubbed Matrix PowerWatch X, it comes with support for smartphone notifications over Bluetooth, its tougher with a reinforced bezel, features a nearly indestructible silicone rubber strap, and it has 200m water resistance.
You still get all the great fitness tracking features of the first generation device. This includes info on calories burned, steps taken and sleep. It accompanying smartphone app will even show you how much electric power you’ve produced during the day, weekly trends, all-time records.
If you take it off, the device will go into sleep mode with your data safely tucked away in its built-in memory. Put it back on and the watch continues right where you left it.
The PowerWatch X is available for preorder for $249.99, and is expected to ship sometime in early 2018.
