Kinsa launches wireless smart thermometer for the whole family

Kinsa launches wireless smart thermometer for adults and childrenKinsa has launched QuickCare, a new FDA approved, wireless, smart thermometer for adults and children. It takes eight-second temperature readings at the press of a button – orally, under the arm, or rectally.

The company that brought us the first FDA-cleared smart thermometer in 2013 continues to develop innovative technology. Kinsa’s latest iteration has an illuminated, easy to read screen and built-in memory for up to 50 readings. It also connects to a iOS or Android smartphone app, where you can set up profiles for different members of your family.

The app tracks temperature and medications, and even offers personalized guidance on what to do next. Soon, the company will even enable delivery of medications and other illness supplies straight to your door.

Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, there are no wires and nothing to plug-in. The QuickCare thermometer runs on a single CR 2032 3V battery.

“Partly, this is our response to the fact that the headphone jack is gone,” Kinsa CEO Inder Singh told MobiHealthNews.

“The first version of our stick was corded and connected to the headphone jack, so our answer to that is a wireless, Bluetooth Low Energy product.”
