Samsung launches special golf variant of its Galaxy Watch
Samsung has announced today a Golf Edition of its Galaxy Watch. The only difference between this and the original variant is in the software.

There is no shortage of devices hitting the market for golf right now. These gadgets offer unprecedented insights into the game not available previously.
Samsung is joining in the fun with the Galaxy Watch Golf Edition. For now the device is only available in South Korea but its likely international availability will follow soon.
The tech giant is not a newbie in this space. Last year, Samsung released the Gear S3 Golf Edition that came with the Smart Caddie app. The software contains info on 60,000 golf courses across the globe, and offers features such as shot tracking and score keeping. Golfers can track their performance on the smartphone app and online.
The Galaxy Edition version is no different. It comes with the same software pre-installed but because battery life is longer you’ll be able to squeeze three rounds of golf or 54 holes on a single charge.

It will be interesting to see whether the South Korean tech giant manages to carve out a significant share of this market as Garmin already has a rich offering in this area. The 46mm and 42mm models of the watch are priced at 409,700 won (around $370) and 389,900 won ($350) respectively.
