Owners of the device can download the Spotify app from today on the Connect IQ store. The app will allow you to store audio for offline listening and stream it to your Bluetooth headset. With room for 500 songs, you will be able to download a hefty selection to your Forerunner 645 Music. Users can also create and sync playlists via WiFi to the Spotify app on their watch.

Swedish-based Spotify Technology launched the service about a decade ago. It has spread quickly since and is now available in more than 65 countries. There is a freemium option with basic features, and a paid subscription service that offers music downloads, improved streaming quality and no advertisements. New Garmin customers can try out the premium service at no cost for a limited period.

Previously, Forerunner 645 Music users were limited to streaming Deezer and iHeartRadio. But there was no way of downloading music for offline storage. Garmin Vivoactive 3 should be next in line to get access.
