The five year old operating system has received a number of key improvements in recent months. The latest adds bite sized apps that should make your life a little bit easier.

The feature is not entirely new. A Tile-like feature existed in the most recent version of Wear OS, but with a single Google Fit tile. Now there are six including Goals, Next event, Forecast (weather), Heart rate, Headlines and Timer. To flick through them simply swipe to the left. Google has stated that it will continue to add more Tiles over time.

This actually fits nicely with other navigation. Swiping up opens up notifications, down opens up settings, right shows Google Assistant and left shows tiles. Users can touch and drag on the Tiles to order them to their preference.

The new functionality will be rolling gradually over the next month. Google says some features may not be available on all devices.

If you’d like an early preview, the company will be demonstrating Tiles at I/O 2019. The event will run between May 7th and 9th at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA
