The Mi Fit app has just been bumped to version 4.0.0. The software update brings a revamped card-based design and more types of workouts.

Huami’s app tracks your daily activity and sleep. Its aim is to keep you motivated while exercising and encourage healthy lifestyle habits. The software supports Mi Band, Amazfit Bip, Mi Body Composition Scale, Mi Scale, Amazfit Pace and a number of other devices.

The new interface has a more minimalistic, modern look. The background is white and fonts and spacing have changed. The three tabs along the bottom include Activity, Friends and Profile. We’ve hunted around for new features but have not really spotted any. The same goes for workouts. It’s more about reshuffling the old.

Reactions to the changes have been mixed. Do a search on Reddit and you’ll see some people liking it, but just as many (if not more) commenting that it doesn’t work well with some languages. Others are saying that it takes more clicks than previously to get info.

As always, it could be a case of getting used to new things. However, it seems that in some regions advertisements are appearing in the app now, which needless to say does not make for a good user experience.

Like it or not, the download is available on Google Play and iTunes. There’s also an APK Mirror with the software. The size of the version 4.0.0 is 74.47 megabytes.

It’s no secret the company is working on Mi Band 4. The first images of the upcoming device have leaked recently, so the launch date is probably not too far off. This update could be laying the software foundations to support the fourth generation device.
