Most media outlets were expecting the launch of Galaxy Tab S6 and Watch Active 2 at Samsung’s Unpacked event on August 7th. The South Korean tech-giant has, however, made it clear in a teaser video that both devices will be unveiled prior to the gathering.

“Samsung Electronics has released a teaser video previewing two new products that will be unveiled in a special pre-event ahead of this year’s Unpacked conference in New York,” a Samsung press release states.
“The new devices cater to the generation that wants the power to create and consume wherever they are. Samsung is allowing for interconnectedness anytime, enabling users to seamlessly merge work and play, and ensuring peace of mind at all times.”
As shown in the 20 second clip, The Galaxy Tab S6 should be announced on July 31st on the Galaxy website. This will be followed by a smartwatch unveiling on August 5th. The video does not mention the watch by name, but the Samsung webpage makes it clear “New Galaxy Watch. August 5, 2019 at 10AM EDT”.
Not much info can be gathered from the short clip. An S-pen is shown below the camera sensors on the Tab S6, along with the new keyboard case. As far as the smartwatch is concerned, it has a round face, leather strap and heart rate sensor on the back.
Most are expecting this to be the second iteration of Galaxy Watch Active. A bit counter intuitive considering the original watch was unveiled only 5 months ago. We think there’s still an outside chance we might actually see Galaxy Watch 2. Particularly considering the first device was released about a year ago, so could benefit from a refresh.
But we have had quite a few pics leaked of the rumoured Watch Active 2. This latest one comes from Android Headlines. It shows the device in a number of colour iterations.
Wareable has also reported there will be a special Under Armour version of the smartwatch. This one will come in at least two colour options, a grey and black.
If we do get the Galaxy Watch Active 2 on August 5th, it is likely to come in two size options, a touch sensitive bezel, LTE, ECG and fall detection. You can check out its full rumoured technical specs on this link.
