Huami CEO shares official renders of Amazfit T-Rex watch
Huami is preparing to launch a new smartwatch series called Amazfit T-Rex in China on the 8th January. The official renders of the device are pictured in this article. The international release should follow in the next month or two considering the device has recently dropped by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The company has had a very busy past six months. So much so that we are starting to lose count of the number of Amazfit watches. Huami released a plethora of devices over the summer, and looks set to continue in this fashion in the weeks to come. Following in the footsteps of our Amazfit Bip S announcement, another watch to launch in early January is part of a new Amazfit T-Rex series.
The device was originally pitted for a 1st of January China launch but this has been pushed back a week later. Here’s a teaser image posted by Huami on Weibo.
The better pics are the ones posted by Huami CEO. These show official renders of the watch leaving nothing to imagination.
The company has revealed the device will have 20-day battery life. A statement of its ability to withstand the elements, T-Rex can survive temperatures of 70 ℃ and minus 40 ℃. This is obviously a very rugged device, perhaps a competitor to the Garmin Fenix 6.
Other info can be gleaned from the FCC certification. Going under product model A1919, the watch has 5 ATM water resistance, a 390mAh battery, BT5.0, BLE connectivity and built-in GPS. Images accompanying the registration show there’s a built-in heart rate monitor. There are four physical buttons marked Select, Back, Up and Down.
As of a few days ago, T-Rex also appears in the Amazfit app. Click on Add new device in your profile page and you will find it there. This shows just how similar the watch is to the Amazfit Stratos. Apart from the tough casing and larger number of physical buttons, they look very much alike.
The FCC registration makes it possible the watch will see an international release soon after CES 2020. Huami is hosting its Amazfit Global New Product Launch Conference on the 7th of January in Las Vegas as part of the show.
We know the company is planning to reveal three product categories which include wireless heart tracking earbuds, a smart fitness product related to shoes and a wrist device. In fact it looks likely we may see multiple wrist devices as it has been earlier confirmed we will see the Amazfit Bip S. Unlike T-Rex, Amazfit Bip S has not gone through the Americation certification body yet.
Huami is also working on a futuristic fitness tracking wrist-band called Amazfit X. It is expected to go into mass production in the first half of 2020.
