The $99 Amazfit GTS 2 Mini is now available to buy in the US

The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini is now available for purchase in the US. The wearable launched earlier this month alongside the Amazfit Pop Pro, as a more budget friendly version of GTS 2.

Amazfit GTS 2 Mini – technical specs

Amazfit GTS is already on its second iteration. GTS 2 is sleeker and lighter than before, it comes with slightly better battery life and a 9-axis accelerometer instead of a 6-axis one. Other additions include an SpO2 sensor and built-in storage for music.

The Mini version is a slightly scaled back timepiece. Launched earlier this month, it has a smaller 1.55 inch AMOLED display (versus 1.66 inches). The resolution is 354 x 306 pixels while the density is 301 PPI. You can see it pictured above and below. There’s also a video at the end of this article.

As before, the watch has a single physical button on the side. Color options include Deep Pine Green, Rose Pink and Obsidian Black. The color of the strap matches the color of the body.

CEO of Huami Technology (Huang Wang) posted on the company’s official Weibo account the following.

“The mini-tablet was born that year, with a lighter and thinner large screen, making it even more enjoyable! Amazfit GTS 2 mini, a tribute to those Mini’s, see you on December 1st”.

As far as the underlying specs, the GTS 2 Mini comes with a BioTracker PPG that is capable of measuring SpO2 in addition to heart rate. Other sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, Ambient Light sensor, NFC and built-in GPS. So no major difference there as compared to its big brother.

The number of sports modes totals 70, and there are the usual fitness and sleep tracking stats. Users can also use GTS Mini to control music, camera and there’s a microphone and Xiao AI voice assistant. So there’s no built in storage music, which is another difference.

The smaller size means the 5 ATM rated device can only accommodate a 220mAh battery (down from 246 mAh). This can keep the thing going for up to 2 weeks with typical use and up to three weeks in long battery life mode. This matches the GTS 2 as the Mini is less power hungry due to a smaller display.

Price & availability

The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini price is fairly reasonable. The wearable is available now in the US on the Amazfit website for $99, as well as Amazon (check price). This makes it much more budget friendly as compared to the GTS 2 which normally sells for $179.
