Huawei Watch Fit gets a fancy Elegant Edition with improved SpO2
A more fancy Watch Fit was launched by Huawei. The Elegant Edition comes packing a metal frame and fluoro-rubber strap instead of the textured matte frame and silicone strap.
Huawei Watch Fit Elegant Edition – what’s new?
Huawei Watch Fit Elegant Edition has pretty much the same specs as the regular iteration. The main change is the more premium build.
As shown in the picture below, the metal frame, a polished glass surface and new strap makes the device look much smarter. The better build has bumped the weight up to 27 grams, so 6 grams more.
As far as features, they are practically unchanged from the regular edition. The only real addition is the ability to monitor SpO2 around the clock. But this feature also comes to the regular version via a software update. Previously you were only able to do manual spot checks.
The 24/7 SpO2 functionality is a nice add-in. Most companies only monitor blood oxygen while a person is asleep. The around the clock feature should make it more useful.
The original Huawei Watch Fit was unveiled in August. The device looks different from most other watches in that it adopts a square frame. In its case, this is an elongated 1.64-inch AMOLED panel which works really well.
Honor Watch ES, which we reviewed recently adopts the exact same look. To remind, Honor was a sub-brand of Huawei until late last year. The large screen with its 70% screen to body ratio is incredibly easy to read. This extends to when you are using it during exercise.
As for health and wellness monitoring features, Huawei Watch Fit packs an accelerometer, barometer, blood oxygen sensor, built-in GPS and an ambient light sensor. This allows it to keep tabs on heart rate, activity, sleep, stress and blood oxygen saturation.
When it comes to exercise the thing keeps tabs on 11 professional sports modes including walking, running, indoor/outdoor cycling and more. Swimming is also on this list as the watch comes with a 5 ATM water-resistance rating.
You are also able to watch 12 different animated quick-workouts on the AMOLED panel. But this is more to show off the gorgeous display than for any practical reasons.

The watch’s 180mAh battery keeps going for up to 10 days with normal use, and about a week with heavy use. This falls to 12 hours with GPS switched on.
Finally, let’s not forget the smart functionality. This extends to lots of useful functions such as smartphone notifications for messages and apps, notifications of calls, calendar events, weather conditions, alarm, timer, remote shutter, find phone, stopwatch and flashlight.
Price, availability, colour options
Huawei Watch Fit Elegant Edition with premium build costs around $150 (check price on Amazon). This is about $20 more than the regular variant. You are able to choose between Graphite Black, Mint Green, Cantaloupe Orange and Sakura Pink colour models.
