Amazfit Trade-in program lets you upgrade to GT 4 Series on the cheap

Zepp Health has opened a trade-in program that lets you exchange your existing watch for Amazfit GTS 4 or GTR 4. What is interesting is that you can also swap non-Amazfit watches.

This is not the first time the company has run this type of promotion. In November last year it offered a similar trade-in program, the difference being you could only exchange an Amazfit watch. This time around you can also swap your Apple, Fitbit, Garmin, Fossil and Samsung. What exactly Zepp Health is planning to do with them is unknown.

Nevertheless, this is useful if you’ve been eying the new Amazfit GT 4 Series but already have a watch. Perhaps you felt the upgrade was not worth the hassle of selling your current device and purchasing a new one. Now that Zepp Health has made this easy, you might want to reconsider.

Only for US customers

The trade-in program can be found on the Amazfit GTS 4 and GTR 4 pages of Amazfit’s website. The deal is only for the US store and will last until October 7th.

So for example, let’s say you are interested in GTS 4 and have a Fitbit Versa 3. On the GTS 4 sales page you’ll notice a “would you like to trade-in?” option. If you choose “Yes, trade in”, another drop-down will appear with the above listed brands. In the screenshot below we choose “Fitbit” and then “Versa 3”.

The next question that you need to answer is about the condition of your existing device. The better its condition to more you can expect as a refund on your new purchase. The choice is between “A condition”, “working but scratched” and “damaged”. For a Fitbit Versa in “A condition” Zepp Health is offering a trade-in value of $60.

Amazfit Trade-in

If you click “I Agree”, you will be taken to a Google form that you’ll need to fill in. Like last year, it consists of around 10 questions.

The company will take that information to create a shipping label for you. This is meant to be used to ship your trade-in smartwatch. Of course, you should wipe the device clean by doing a factory reset before sending it off by post. Upon inspection Zepp Health will do that for you if I sees that you have not wiped your data.

You can then the place your order for an Amazfit GT 4 Series on the official US website (www.amazfit.com/us). It is important to note that the offer is not valid if you make a purchase on other retail outlets such as Amazon, for example.

You’ll be asked to pay the full price on the new watch. But Zepp Health will refund the value of your trade-in smartwatch within 1-4 business days once they receive your device.

It’s not a bad deal. Especially as that saving would be on top of any sale that the GT 4 series might be at up till October 7th. A sale, plus a refund on your existing watch might offer a significant saving on the latest generation timepiece.

We currently have an Amazfit GTR 4 in possession and will look to publish a full hands-on review in the next few days. There really is lots to like about the watch and the improvements over the previous generation are clear.

This includes a larger 1.65 inch HD display, the BioTracker 4.0 PPG optical sensor, more sports modes, dual-band GPS technology, on-board storage for music, a battery saver mode and the upgraded Zepp OS 2.0. Amazfit GTS 4 has all of this, the only exception being the display is the same size as last year.
