Garmin Fenix 7, Epix 2, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, & MARQ 2 get another Beta update

Garmin has released a new Beta update for its popular watch models, including the Fenix 7, Epix 2, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and MARQ 2. Version 13.10 is released just five days after the previous one. With several new features and bug fixes, this update mostly focuses on improving the user experience. The changelog reveals enhancements to the activity stage menu, course complete banner, touch experience, and load ratio gauges, among other things.

New feature: Cycling Readiness course analysis

The Cycling Readiness course analysis page is a new feature introduced in the Beta update. Garmin hasn’t specified in its documentation exactly what this is. Which has left people guessing. It’s possible that it refers to a feature already available on the Edge 1040, in which you enter a course and it generates a power profile for that route, which you can compare to your cycling ability.

Improved activity stage menu

The enhanced activity stage menu is another enhancement in the update. This menu now gives users more detailed information about their activity stages, making it easier for them to track their progress and adjust their workout accordingly.

This update also improves the touch experience for the activity stage. Users can now easily navigate between stages and access vital information like heart rate, distance, and pace. This feature should make it easier to monitor and adjust performance during a workout.

Improved Load Ratio gauges to be proportional

The load ratio gauges have been improved to be more proportional in the new beta update. This means that users can now more accurately monitor their effort during a workout, making tracking progress and setting goals easier.

Fixed shutdown issues

The update also addresses several shutdown issues that users had previously reported. These problems occurred during race events and obstacle course racing, causing the devices to unexpectedly shut down. Version 13.10 addresses issues with system time and position, as well as missing vibration on obstacle course racing splits.

Other fixes

In addition to these features, the update addresses a number of user-reported issues, such as problems with workout audio prompts, colouring of map data fields, battery saver toggle while in sleep mode, potential shutdown during manual software updates, on-screen torch for Fenix 7/7s devices, golf green contour drawing on Fenix devices, potential shutdown when pairing with Zwift in a virtual run activity, and double tap to zoom on map.

The new beta update for Garmin Fenix 7, Epix 2, Enduro 2, Qautix 7, and MARQ 2 watches comes hot on the heels of version 13.09. That one had a much longer change-log and added the much anticipated wrist-based running dynamics feature.

Version 13.10 is mostly about fixing several issues that were previously reported, providing a smoother and more reliable user experience. If you would like to install it, this is still in the early Beta stage. So you’ll need to go to Menu > System > Software Update on your smartwatch to check if it is available for your device. Customers who have joined in the Public Beta programme are the only ones who can access the new software.
