Amazfit GTR 4 Limited Edition offers a premium alternative to the original

Huami, also recognized as Zepp, has recently unveiled an elegant limited addition to its GTR smartwatch series. The Amazfit GTR 4 Limited Edition expertly fuses a classic design with cutting-edge functionality, presenting a superior alternative to the original GTR 4.

A few months ago, we reviewed the vanilla Amazit GTR 4 and were impressed by its capabilities as a fitness watch. This latest generation has made a more significant leap compared to its predecessors,. Both the software and hardware received upgrades contributing to a well-rounded package.

The heart rate monitoring accuracy during workouts has been substantially improved. This is thanks to the BioTracker 4.0 PPG sensor, which now collects 33% more data than its previous iteration. Additionally, users can connect the watch to an external heart rate chest strap via Bluetooth for tracking during exercise. Furthermore, the new GTR 4 Limited Edition boasts significant enhancements in satellite connectivity.

Now we are getting a more premium version of the watch.

Amazfit GTR 4 Limited Edition – what’s new?

Although the Amazfit GTR 4 Limited Edition bears many resemblances to its predecessor, it distinguishes itself through several key upgrades. The Limited Edition features a robust stainless steel middle frame, an industry-leading glass-ceramic back panel, and redesigned dual physical buttons on the side. This includes a classic crown for a touch of elegance. It allows users an alternative way to easily cycle through the app menu.

Exclusive to the new edition is a sleek silver colorway, complemented by an “Infinite Black” fluoroelastomer strap. This contrasts with the original GTR 4, which offers a more extensive selection of color options.

The Amazfit GTR 4 Limited Edition is tailored to users who value a traditional watch design while still desiring cutting-edge features. Boasting a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, a BioTracker 4.0 PPG sensor for health tracking, this smartwatch is as contemporary as it is classic.

As you’d expect the device has all the abilities of the original version. This includes 24 hour heart rate, SpO2, stress monitoring, support for over 150 sports modes and strength exercise recognition. The dual-band satellite connectivity is also there.

The GTR 4 Limited Edition stands out as the only Amazfit smartwatch with wireless charging support, a convenient feature for on-the-go users. Additionally, the watch is equipped with a 475mAh battery, ensuring up to 14 days of battery life.

Some media outlets have reported that the Limited Edition model can sense body temperature, which would be useful for monitoring health during illness or tracking temperature changes during exercise. However, this feature is not listed on the Zepp Health website, and its presence remains unconfirmed.

Price, availability

The Amazfit GTR 4 Limited Edition is currently available for purchase on Amazfit’s US website for US$ 249.99, which is $US 50 more than the GTR 4 (check price on Amazon). However, the additional features and premium design of the Limited Edition may justify the extra cost for discerning users.

  • Hi, Marko.
Have you any idea when the Amazfit GTR4 Limited edition will be available in Australia?
Also, what would be the likely cost and does it have fall detection as part of its built in
characteristics? I did see one item which stated that it does have this feature, but none
of the other posts stated this.
    Can you help please?

    • No idea when it is likely to arrive in Australia – if it hasn’t arrived by now, it might not arrive. I don’t think any Amazfit watch has fall detection. You want the Apple Watch for that.
