We knew the device was coming. This iteration has recently cleared both SIRIM and IMDA certifications, suggesting its release would happen in the weeks ahead.
For those not in the know, Redmi is a sub-brand of Xiaomi Corporation, a Chinese multinational electronics company. The outfit primarily focuses on budget and mid-range smartphones. It also offers other electronic devices such as smartwatches and fitness bands.
Design and display
The Redmi Watch 3 Lite inherits the rectangular design of its predecessor. The 5 ATM device features a single navigation button and detachable straps for swapping around with other options.
As far as screen technology, the timepiece has a 1.83-inch AMOLED (with 450 nits of brightness), which is slightly bigger than that of the Redmi Watch 3. The software aspect of the Watch 3 Lite introduces an impressive collection of more than 200 personalized watch faces.

To remind, its predecessor boasts a 1.75-inch high-definition AMOLED with a 70% screen-to-body ratio and a 60Hz refresh rate. That one was launched for the global market in March 2023.
Battery and connectivity
Watch 3 Lite is equipped with a 2.87V Polymer Li-ion built-in battery and a proprietary charging cable. Users can expect battery life of up to 12 days on normal usage. With heavy usage, the watch can last up to 8 days when it is fully charged. The wearable also support Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC connectivity, allowing for pairing with a various of devices.

Price and release date
By the sounds of it, the Lite version will provide a similar user experience to its big brother. Xiaomi seems to have now unveiled the device as it is listed on the Xiaomi Mall website.
The Redmi Watch 3 Lite (Youth Edition) is up for pre-order in China but the pricing details are still not known. As a Lite edition, the device is expected to be a budget edition of the watch, priced around 50 euros. The cost saving is achieved by the fact that unlike Watch 3, the timepiece does not pack built-in GPS – only Connected GPS.
The tech giant is expected to officially launch the smartwatch on May 23rd.
