Honor Watch 4 boasts a 1.75-inch AMOLED & e-SIM connectivity
Honor has just launched its latest innovation, the Honor Watch 4. It comes with a large 1.75 inch display and e-SIM support. The device was unveiled in China alongside the Magic V2 foldable, MagicPad 13 and the Smart Screen 5 TV.
To provide some context, it’s worth mentioning the company’s most recent wearable release, the Honor Band 7. This device, which launched in Europe in May, features a thinner body and a more premium build compared to its predecessor. It offers a large 1.47-inch AMOLED display, up to two weeks of battery life, and a variety of health tracking systems. However, unlike the Honor Watch 4, the Band 7 does not have built-in GPS functionality.
Last year we saw the launch of Honor Watch GS3 in Europe. However, there was little else in the wearables department. To remind, the company separated from Huawei a few years ago.
Key features and specifications
The Honor Watch 4 is its latest innovation. The timepiece boasts a sizeable 1.75-inch AMOLED display with HD resolution (450 x 390 pixels) and a 60Hz refresh rate. This should be enough to provide users with a clear and smooth viewing experience. The device supports over 400 customizable watch faces, allowing users to personalize their watch to their liking.
The measurements of Honor Watch 4 come in at 45.3 × 39.1 × 11.2mm and weigh at 48 grams. You can pick up this new smartwatch in three distinct colors: Obsidian Black, Morning Glow Gold, and Cloud Water Blue, offering a blend of style and functionality. Whatever colour option you choose, take comfort in knowning it will have a water-resistance rating of 5 ATM.

One of the standout features of the Honor Watch 4 is its e-SIM connectivity. This is actually the first watch from the company that supports this type of functionality.
This feature enables users to make calls directly from the watch, enhancing its convenience and usability. The smartwatch also comes equipped with several health monitoring sensors, including heart rate and blood oxygen level sensors, along with a sleep tracker and more.
Furthermore, there’s support for 97 different sports. This includes activities such as outdoor and indoor running, outdoor and indoor cycling, and more. The device supports NFC and offers easy OTA software upgrades. It’s important to note that the watch is compatible with phones running Android 9.0 or iOS 11.0 and above.
Performance and battery life
Finally, you can expect to get around 10 days on a single charge with normal usage. The 451mAh battery inside the case is at the larger end of what can be found in a typical smartwatch.
Price and availability
The Honor Watch 4 is currently available for purchase in China at a special price of CNY 949 (around $130). That sounds pretty cost-effective for something that packs cellular connectivity. It is expected that the smartwatch will soon be available in other markets as well.
