Zepp Health quietly unveils the affordable Amazfit Bip 5 Unity

Zepp Health has quietly expanded their Bip lineup with a new model: the Amazfit Bip 5 Unity. This new smartwatch shares a strong resemblance to the existing Amazfit Bip 5, but with a few important distinctions. Think of it as a Lite version of the original.

The Unity difference: Design and features

The most immediately noticeable change in the Amazfit Bip 5 Unity lies in its construction. It boasts a stainless steel middle frame, lending a touch of elegance to the design while the standard Bip 5 features a plastic body. This smartwatch is also slightly slimmer and lighter than its counterpart, providing a less bulky feel on the wrist.

Retailing for around $60, it is also about $10 cheaper. To achieve a slightly lower price point, the Bip 5 Unity does sacrifice a few features compared to the Bip 5. It lacks a built-in GPS, so you’ll need to rely on your smartphone to track outdoor activities with precision.

Robust health and fitness tracking

Despite the omissions, the Amazfit Bip 5 Unity still delivers a robust smartwatch experience. It boasts the same large, colorful 1.91 TFT display as the Bip 5, making it easy to check notifications, health stats, and the time at a glance. However, the watch seems to be less curved than its predecessor.

The whole thing runs on Zepp OS 3.0 provides which offers a smooth user interface. Plus the watch offers excellent battery life that can last for 11 days on a single charge.

You’ll still enjoy essential health and fitness tracking features like heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen saturation measurement, sleep tracking, and a wide selection of sports modes. The Bip 5 Unity remains customizable with multiple watch faces and is IP68 water-resistant, making it a suitable companion for everyday wear.

The device is an interesting option if you’re looking for a stylish and capable smartwatch without breaking the bank. Its refined design, long battery life, and core health monitoring features make it a compelling choice for those who don’t prioritize built-in GPS.
