YouTube Music now rocking Garmin smartwatches

Garmin smartwatch owners have a reason to celebrate as YouTube Music has officially landed on the Connect IQ store. This highly anticipated integration allows users to take their favourite tunes and podcasts on the go, directly from their wrist.

Comprehensive features

The YouTube Music app for Garmin doesn’t disappoint, offering a wide range of features. With over 100 million official songs, including live performances, covers, remixes, and exclusive content, there is something for everyone.

As you’d expect, YouTube Music’s algorithm curates playlists and mixes tailored to your individual preferences and activities. You can stay informed and entertained with a vast selection of podcasts covering a variety of topics.

YouTube Music Premium or YouTube Premium subscribers gain the ability to download music and podcasts directly to their watch for offline playback, providing uninterrupted enjoyment without the need for a smartphone.

Is YouTube Music the Spotify challenger?

As Spotify raises its prices, many users are exploring alternatives. While Apple Music integration remains unlikely due to the competing Apple Watch, YouTube Music emerges as a compelling option for Garmin users. Its extensive library, personalized playlists, offline listening capabilities for Premium subscribers, and seamless integration with Garmin’s ecosystem make it a strong contender for the top spot.

A wide array of compatible devices

Unfortunately the app is not compatible with all Garmin watches. But YouTube Music is currently compatible with the following:

  • D2 Mach 1 Pro
  • Enduro 2
  • Forerunner 255 Music, 255S Music, 265, 265S, 955, 955 Solar, 965
