CMF Watch Pro 2 teases innovative bezel-swapping feature

CMF by Nothing is shaking things up with its soon-to-launch Watch Pro 2. Set for a July 8 debut, this new gadget is turning heads with its unique interchangeable bezel system.

The brand showed off this feature a few hours ago in a teaser image, giving us a sneak peek at the watch’s design. While the picture doesn’t spill all the secrets, it’s got people talking and guessing about how it might work. Interestingly, there’s no obvious way to attach the bezel from the outside, which has led to some creative theories.

Some folks think magnets might be the answer, but having recently tried out the Xiaomi Watch S3 (which has a similar look), I’m betting on a different approach. The Xiaomi watch uses a twist-to-unlock system for its bezel – no visible attachments needed. It’s a simple system that works very well. We’ll know for sure in a few days when CMF by Nothing officially unveils the Watch Pro 2.

This new timepiece is quite a departure from its older sibling. The original Watch Pro was all angles with its square face and chunky build. In contrast, the Watch Pro 2 goes for a round face with a sleek bezel and aluminum alloy body. It’s a move that might appeal to those who prefer a more classic watch look.

Another cool addition is the rotating crown on the right side of the watch. This likely means easier navigation through the watch’s features and menus.

A recent leak shared on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) by The Nothing & CMF Fan Hub gives us a glimpse of the watch with a black bezel attached. This bezel gives the Watch Pro 2 a more angular, boxy appearance.

The first Watch Pro, priced at a wallet-friendly $49, set a high bar for budget smartwatches. It packed a punch with its 1.96-inch AMOLED display, GPS, 110 sport modes, and the ability to make calls via Bluetooth. Throw in water resistance and a battery that could go for 13 days, and you had yourself a pretty sweet deal.

While we’re still in the dark about the Watch Pro 2’s full specs, the redesign and new features like the swappable bezel show that CMF by Nothing isn’t afraid to try new things. Let’s hope it retains similar pricing to the original model.

The July 8 event is shaping up to be quite interesting. Besides the Watch Pro 2, we’ll also see the launch of the CMF Phone 1 and Buds Pro 2. It looks like CMF by Nothing is aiming to make a splash across several product lines.
