Fitness tracking on a budget as CMF Watch Pro 2 makes its debut

Nothing’s sub-brand CMF officially launched the Watch Pro 2 today. This circular device marks a significant departure from its predecessor’s Apple Watch-inspired design, offering a blend of style and functionality that punches above its price point.


Tech specs and features

The CMF Watch Pro 2 features a round 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. This screen boasts a 60 Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 620 nits. The watch body is crafted from aluminum alloy, measuring 25.5 x 4.5 x 1.36 cm, and incorporating a fully functional digital crown.

One of the Watch Pro 2’s standout features is its interchangeable bezel design. A number of different bezel options are available including Dark Grey Curved Bezel, Dark Grey Flat Bezel, Ash Grey Curved Bezel, Ash Grey Flat Bezel. This customization feature, reminiscent of the Xiaomi Watch S3, allows users to personalize their device’s appearance.

Powering the Watch Pro 2 is a 305 mAh battery, which offers impressive longevity. Users can expect up to 11 days of typical use, an extended 46 days in power-saving mode, or 25 hours with GPS activated. The device is also IP68 rated for water and dust resistance, making it suitable for various environments and activities.

Rather than adopting Google’s Wear OS, CMF has again opted for a custom lightweight platform. While this means users won’t have access to third-party apps, the watch comes preloaded with a suite of health functions. This includes alarms, timers, and over 100 watch faces. The operating system supports more than 120 sports modes, with automatic recognition for 5 activities.

Health monitoring capabilities include heart rate tracking, blood oxygen measurement, stress level monitoring, and sleep tracking. For outdoor activities, the Watch Pro 2 features a built-in multi-system GPS for precise location tracking.

Connectivity features include Bluetooth 5.3 calling with AI noise reduction, as well as music and camera control functions. The watch also supports gesture control for added convenience.

A new custom widget function enhances the user interface. This allows users to swipe right from the main watch face to access four customizable widget screens. This feature enables quick access to fitness data, weather information, schedules, or music controls, tailoring the experience to individual preferences.

For serious athletes, the Watch Pro 2 provides advanced metrics including aerobic/anaerobic effectiveness, training load, and recovery time. Data can be seamlessly synced across popular platforms such as Apple Health, Google Health Connect, as well as Strava.

Price, availability

The CMF Watch Pro 2 is available from today in four attractive colors: Orange, Dark Gray, Ash Gray, and Blue. Priced at an affordable €69 (approximately $69 USD), with an additional €19 for a watch bezel and strap accessory set.
