August 8th is the date marking the opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It has also been China’s National Fitness Day since 2009. On that date, all public sports facilities can be used by the public for free.
A wide range of campaigns will be held around the country to encourage people to take up more physical exercise. Activities will include fitness seminars, fitness check-ups, and popular sports in the region such as table tennis, five-a-side football, swimming, tennis and more.
The Cupertino outfit is marking the occasion with exclusive reward badges in the Activity app. The first time this challenge was announced was back in 2018. And it has become a regular occurance since then.
Apple Watch owners in China can earn this by completing a workout lasting 20 minutes or longer on the big day.
As Apple explains, this can be any type of workout.
Get active for National Fitness Day! On August 8, earn this award by doing any workout for at least 20 minutes. Record your time in the Workout app or any app that adds workouts to Health
This is not the only region-specific challenge Apple runs. In fact, it is not the only one exclusively for China. Another one for that region is the Lunar New Year Challenge.
As always, though who successfully complete the task on August 8th will receive a bunch of stickers and virtual trofies. These can be viewed in the Fitness App on the iPhone or Activity app on the Apple Watch.
