Kineon launches Heal+ and Calm+: New devices target gut health & mental wellbeing
A new crowdfunding campaign for a couple of interesting products was announced on Indiegogo today. The Kineon Heal+ and Calm+ devices aim to address gut health issues and improve mental wellbeing through a combination of red light therapy and vagus nerve stimulation.
The company is looking to build on the success of their previous crowdfunding campaign. That one raised over $1.5 million for the MOVE+ Pro and has since shipped 30,000 units worldwide. Kineon is now focusing on the intricate connection between gut health and mental state.

The Heal+ device utilizes red light therapy, targeting the abdominal area to potentially improve gut health. It employs multiple wavelengths (665 nm, 808 nm, 940 nm, and 1060 nm) optimized for biome health. Users are advised to use the device for 15 minutes, 4-5 times a week, for cumulative benefits.
Meanwhile, the Calm+ is designed to be worn around the neck, providing vagus nerve stimulation. This non-invasive approach aims to combat stress and anxiety, improve mood, and enhance sleep quality. The device includes built-in sensors to measure vagus nerve activity and integrate optical heart measurements, potentially allowing for personalized treatment in the future.
There is actual science behind the tech
The science behind these devices is rooted in a growing body of research. Red light therapy has been the subject of numerous studies investigating its potential benefits for various health conditions, including inflammation and pain reduction. Vagus nerve stimulation, on the other hand, has gained attention for its potential to modulate the gut-brain axis, influencing both digestive health and mental state.
Dr. James Chen, a neurogastroenterologist not affiliated with Kineon, comments on the potential of such devices: “The gut-brain connection is a fascinating area of study. While more research is needed, non-invasive methods to modulate this axis could potentially offer new avenues for managing both gastrointestinal and mental health issues.”
Kineon emphasizes that their devices are designed to complement, not replace, traditional medical treatments. They also note that while the technology is promising, individual results may vary.
The Kineon Heal+ and Calm+ are currently available for pre-order through Kineon’s Indiegogo campaign, with the company offering early bird discounts of up to 50% off the retail price. That means the combined price for the duo is $348. As with all crowdfunding campaigns, potential backers are advised to understand the risks associated with supporting products in development.
