Hands-free features & adventure sports lead Amazfit Balance update
The Amazfit Balance continues to be the most feature-packed in the Zepp Health range, all the more so with this latest firmware update. This brings hands-free notification reading through Zepp Flow alongside expanded sports tracking features for mountaineering and swimming activities.
Users have started receiving the new software in the past couple of days. It goes by the number 3.22.9.1 and weighs in at 8.27MB.
To see if it the update has hit your region, go to the watch’s settings menu, specifically under Watch Settings > System > Check for Updates. While the installation may take some time, you are advised to keep their device connected to Wi-Fi during the process.
What’s new?
Arguably, the most interesting part of this update is the watch’s notification system through Zepp Flow. This now allows users to have their notifications read aloud automatically – so no manual effort required. This hands-free approach streamlines information delivery, and there is new calendar integration which helps users stay on top of their schedules through notification-based reminders.
Sports lovers will appreciate the expanded workout tracking capabilities. In particular the Hydrox Race mode, which has been added for both individual and team performance recording.
For outdoor activities, the navigation experience has been refined with turn-by-turn prompts that alert users when you venture off their planned route. The update also introduces more detailed contour maps. Personal records now categorize activities more specifically, separating mountaineering into climbing and outdoor hiking, while swimming records distinguish between pool and open water sessions.

The software update also focuses on sleep tracking accuracy, with improvements to the sleep staging algorithm. A practical addition to the interface allows quick access to recently used countdown timers, which automatically populate the top four slots.
Finally, technical improvements include enhanced notification handling, upgraded voice-to-text input, and fixes for various issues including swimming trip records and occasional health data anomalies. The update also resolves certain restart failures that users previously encountered.
